Fabric Covered Armor
There are several ways to create costume armor, with all different kinds of materials. There is no ‘right’ way to go about it, think about what you need the piece to do and the tools you have. For Nero, I wanted something that was going to be flexible and easy to wear. I also wanted something that would be easy to travel with. With the fabric covering the foam armor piece, I wouldn’t have to worry about paint chipping to scratching accidentally. I decided the best way to go about this, was to cover eva foam with the fabric. In this tutorial I’ll go over how I created armor with the use of eva foam and spandex. Here I will break down step by step how made Nero’s shoe armor. You can use the techniques shown for your own project!
