There, there, I feel your pain 🥺
Is it too much to ask for a window seat where I can curl up, dramatically rest my head against the window, and watch lampposts make hopscotch squares of light on the sidewalk while I have an existential crisis?

Someone: hey, if you’re a writer, why don’t I ever see you writing?
Me, a writer who’s been daydreaming about three characters, two unwritten chapters, some scraps of dialogue, and a partial plot that still needs to be heated up in the microwave before it’s usable:

And yet the difficulty continues ;-;

Why is writing so unbelievably Difficult?
Man, if I could envision writer’s block as a thing of physical existence, it would for sure be a hulking demon spawn, sitting on my shoulders. I swear, if I don’t improve in writing the first few chapters of Requiem, I’m going to riot!
Any amazing writers out there willing to spill some knowledge on how to beat writer’s block? *puppy eyes*
(Hm... the image down below sums up my feelings indeed)

to my writer friends…
self deprecation and attacking your work doesn’t give you anything: except a false sense that if you reject yourself first, other people can’t hurt you.
your writing matters. your stories are meant to be told.
they came to you for a reason. whether it feels indulgent af or divinely downloaded, these stories chose you. who are you to question their judgment and attack yourself for the comfort of your ego?
you have the magic. the proof exists because the ideas came to you.
keep writing. keep improving. but also give yourself permission to be amazed, grateful, and filled with wonder about where you’re at NOW.
your voice matters because you matter. keep going.
