Our first letter of the week for the year is W
We have been learning how to write w and today we read a funny story called "The Worrywarts". We enjoyed it because it had lots of w words in it..and lots of 'what if' questions.

Hungry Caterpillar Oral Story boards
We have been learning the Hungry Caterpillar story by Eric Carle. This has helped our focus on learning numbers to ten, and to learn the order of the days of the week. Our storyboards are looking amazing. We have practiced with a partner, and in front of our class. We are really looking forward to sharing these with our families on grandparents Day.

Valentines Day Art

Run Jump Throw: We participated in this programme for the first few weeks of term.. We learnt skills such as hurdling, throwing (pushing like a shot put), and discus throwing. We learnt scissor kicks for high jumping, and did lots of running and relays which were great fun. Our skills improved really quickly. On wet days we went to the hall and did some 'bowling' through the hurdles. Our coaches were really helpful and taught us some great ways to remember how to hold the equipment.

Week One - Term One
We start each day in Room 1 with our song book. This helps us to learn our alphabet and the sounds letters make. We are also learning our basic sight words through this. Our 'Helper of the Day' is responsible for handing out our pointers and song books.
