I accidently dyed my hair a pinkish red (accidently: the box looked dark but it was Not) and I am floored by the sheer number of compliments I got today?
my kids wouldn't stop talking about it, it was so sweet 😭 they know they're not allowed to speak portuguese during class so one came up to me to ask how she could say that my new hair color really suited me so she could repeat it back to me 🥹
then a younger student from a different class who had never met me stopped me to say "oh you're so beautiful" ??? and like, kid compliments hit different solely because they have no filter and no reason to compliment you if they don't mean it, I felt so important
in almost a decade of teaching this had never happened. don't underestimate the power of accidental hair color changes I guess

idk about the plot yet because i'm only 2 episodes in but you know what really got me? the little details and references. i mean the really small stuff. the clock. the tricycle. the tato plants. the destroyed but still recognizable Slocum Joe's.
