Pantone Colour of the Year 2021
Every year, Pantone publishes their “colour of the year”, which is a direct reflection of the year before and what the consumers and creatives will look forward on the year, making it a commercially relevant colour for all markets and industries.
2020 was shit, so for 2021 the colour HAD TO BE a bright, optimistic and (as I described this predictions with my work team back in November) “crayola basic box”. You might as “wait, why is that? how can anyone “predict” such thing?” Well, we do not use magic to predict anything, just past behaviors, trends and economical and cultural changes that the future consumer has gone through during 2020. Basic bright colours are happy and are reminiscent of childhood (the moment in life we all usually felt safe), and that (historically) is a direct response to uncertain times and crisis. And we were right, since Pantone published that the combo of a bright yellow and a light grey are the colours for 2021.
So, here are I selected a few images of 18th century fashion for we all to get inspiration for our yellow and/or grey projects for 2021.
