Mob Rules - Celebration Day (30 Years Of Mob Rules)
Release Date: 3 May 2024
Tumblr media
Northern German melodic power metallers Mob Rules are celebrating their 30th anniversary. The band, centred around singer Klaus Dirks, will soon release "Celebration Day - 30 Years Of Mob Rules", an extensive and high quality compilation album.
The double CD, includes 30 hand-picked songs, including not only obvious band classics such as "Black Rain", "Hollowed Be Thy Name" and "Rain Song", but also songs that have previously been less in the spotlight.
Klaus says, "I immediately have to think of 'Way Of The World', which was the last song on our 'Hollowed Be Thy Name' album from 2002. We were able to get ex-Helloween/Masterplan guitarist Roland Grapow for a guest appearance and in the end the eight-and-a-half-minute track became one of the best in our repertoire."
In addition to this great cross-section of the band's career, there are also some tracks that were previously only available digitally, such as the latest single "Hymn Of The Damned" and the Amon Amarth cover "Raven's Flight".
With three brand new cover songs, "Celebration Day - 30 Years Of Mob Rules" also contains previously unreleased material. With great attention to detail, the band took on songs as different as "Run To The Hills" (Iron Maiden), "Fame" (Irene Cara) and "Square Hammer" (Ghost).
Every detail of "Celebration Day - 30 Years Of Mob Rules" displays the incredibly high quality standards of a band that doesn't do things by halves.

Night Wilds - All That Should Have Been
Release Date: 1 Apr 2024
Tumblr media
The debut album from progressive alt-rock band Night Wilds, All That Should Have Been, is both theatrically entertaining and darkly cathartic. It’s an immersive concept album that cloaks autobiography in fantastical fiction.
The 17-song rock opera chronicles the story of a boy trapped in a cruel circus desperately performing for a madman ringleader. Night Wilds’s primary singer-songwriter Seth Micarelli says, “For a long time I have been searching the void. This album is about making sense of that journey.”
All That Should Have Been is an album of connection with the self and a homage to the journey we take within. Much like Pink Floyd’s The Wall, along with modern epics by Tool, Radiohead, and even Rage Against The Machine, it blurs the line between entertainment and enlightenment.
No corners were cut on All That Should Have Been—even the string arrangements are real—and the songs feature world-class musicians recorded on vintage recording gear at storied studios in the band’s Seattle hometown.
All That Should Have Been is a deeply personal album with a message of hope and a belief that we first must venture into the darkest caves to emerge who we really are. Seth says, “In writing this record, I wasn’t thinking how the album would be received, and no matter what happens, I am proud to have created a record that is truly authentic.”

Release Date: 31 May 2024
Tumblr media
Ebba Bergkvist & The Flat Tire Band is a Swedish blues rock band who freely moves between heavy guitar riffs, raw garage rock and heartbreaking blues. With her powerful voice, Ebba Bergkvist mends the bond between the rock of the 70s and our modern soundscape, with the music’s energy as the most essential.
Released in May, "Four Wings" is the band's second studio album and follows on from their critically acclaimed debut "Spilt Milk" from 2020.
While embracing a modern approach to production, the sound is firmly rooted in influences from artists such as Rival Sons, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Blues Pills, Lucifer, and Jimi Hendrix. The outcome is a diverse and dynamic album full of energy and emotion.
What started as a solo project at a music school in northern Sweden 2017 soon culminated in the EP “Alright” 2019, which after moving back to the hometown of Stockholm was followed up by the acclaimed debut album “Spilt Milk” (2020).
The band consists of the Swedish guitarist, singer and the Junior Blues Prize of 2023 winner Ebba Bergkvist, bassist Björn Björnehult Korning, drummer Adam Randolph and Finnish guitarist Jonas Skeppar.

Big Wolf Band - Rebel's Journey
Release Date: 19 Apr 2024
Tumblr media
Hailed by music pundits as most highly anticipated album collection of songs of their career, "Rebel’s Journey" is Big Wolf Band’s second instalment of the Rebel’s trilogy of albums. The new album is about the growth of the band and frontman’s Jonathan Earp’s personal journey.
Big Wolf Band have built a reputation as being one of the best live bands on the circuit, delivering dynamic shows with an expansive range of self-penned songs that cover all flavours of blues rock that truly makes them unique. Rebel’s Journey reinforces this bands creativity, musicianship, and delivery. Each song having its own identity but still that unmistakable Big Wolf sound. The band’s ability to drift between genres while keeping their own sound is a big selling point amongst followers of the band.
Vocalist and guitarist Jonathan Earp says, “Rebel’s Journey highlights my own personal battle with my mental and physical health. I have a connective tissue disorder called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (HEDS) which affects everything. I had surgery in mid-2019 during our 'Be Free' tour to repair damage to my right shoulder, dislocations, and nerve pain. Unfortunately, the operation caused more pain and numbness and for nearly 2 years I struggled to play, some days to even hold a plectrum."
"Songs like 'Standing in the Rain', 'Black Dog Blues', and 'Living on Borrowed Time' are about the battles I had during those dark days. My condition will always be a challenge but one I live with and continue to prove doubters wrong.
"The album isn’t all doom and gloom, despite being in the blues genre. 'Empire and a Prayer', my first co-written song with Justin Johnson, as well as 'Got Me Reeling' and 'Living on Borrowed Time'. We have had many a joke with my dark writing style, Justin brings the light and love. 'Rise Together' is one of the songs on the album I am proud of and is all about the power of love, rising together and that anything is possible.”
Big Wolf Band were recently nominated for “UK Blues Band of the Year” at the 2024 UK Blues Awards.

Speed Limit - The Broken Record: Chorus Sound Tapes
Release Date: 12 Apr 2024
Tumblr media
Time capsules are mysterious treasure chests of history, captivating with their often enigmatic and curiosity-piquing nature, stirring the imagination and exploratory desire of future generations. They act as bridges between eras, containing carefully selected objects, information, and messages that provide insights into the life, culture, and aspirations of their time.
Such a musical time capsule is represented by The Broken Record: Chorus Sound Tapes 1990 from the Austrian hard rock band Speed Limit, due for official release in April after remaining hidden for nearly thirty-five years.
Originally recorded in 1990 at the Chorus Sound Studios in Vienna, this work was intended as the group's second studio album. Unfortunately, a release did not materialize at that time.
In 1990, Speed Limit was at the pinnacle of their creativity. Following the success of their mini album "Prophecy," which gained widespread recognition in the international heavy metal scene The band was named Austria's best metal act.
But, after parting ways with their guitarist Hel Lennart, they recruited Joe Eder, the former guitarist of Torso, and began working on this album. However, the recording process took longer than expected, leading the band to take breaks to play concerts. The release was repeatedly postponed and was eventually abandoned. Then singer Steven Hogger left the band.
In addition to the original versions of some songs that later appeared in revised form on the albums "Perfect Inspiration" (1992) and "Moneyshot" (2010), "The Broken Record" offers an exciting acoustic testament. It impressively documents the musical evolution of the Salzburg heavy metal and hard rock band and includes some unknown works of Speed Limit.

These Wicked Rivers - Force Of Nature
Release Date: 1 Mar 2024
Tumblr media
Established in 2014, These Wicked Rivers are Derby’s entry to the new wave of rock and roll that is sweeping across the United Kingdom. 2024 kicked off in style with a hometown show that sold out in just 5 hours, and their new album 'Force of Nature' was released at the start of March.
Drawing influence from the well of rock legends and blues greats, the band have made quite an impact since their inception with their unique brand of blues-infused modern rock steadily picking up plaudits for their gutsy live performances across the UK.

The band then released their debut album ‘Eden’ in May 2020 to huge critical acclaim.
The band embarked on their first UK headline tour last year, taking their trademark 'Grandma's Living Room' stage set to the far corners of the UK with several shows sold out.

Ellis Mano Band - Live: Access All Areas
Release Date: 15 Mar 2024
Tumblr media
Following the Ellis Mano Band's tour last year in support of the critically acclaimed "Luck of the Draw" album, fifteen songs recorded in Germany and Switzerland have now been released on their first live album "Live: Access All Areas".
The positive reviews of the last studio album, led us to believe that the Ellis Mano Band would also be sensational live. There is a tight interplay between the musicians, vocalist Chris Ellis, guitarist Edis Mano, keyboardist Lukas Bosshardt, bass player Severin Graf and drummer Nico Looser.
The band sound powerful and transparent and a wide range of styles are at play. There's modern rock, full of blues & soul. The emotional power of these original compositions, in which the live recordings are steeped, is quite gripping.
"Live: Access All Areas" documents an onstage snapshot in the middle of this band’s upward journey to success. Compared to the versions on the sonically perfect studio works, the original compositions sound edgier and earthier live. They also let loose with pretty amazing improvisations.
You can appreciate the  jam aspect by viewing the ten-minute track "A Lifetime", the video of which ended up on Joe Bonamassa's YouTube playlist and has already had over 375,000 views.

Dion - Girl Friends
Release Date: 8 Mar 2024
Tumblr media
'Girl Friends' is the new album from rock and blues legend Dion. It finds him collaborating with a stellar array of female musicians.
Ahead of the album, he released online videos for the tracks “Soul Force” with Susan Tedeschi and “An American Hero” with Carlene Carter. Dion’s other collaborators on the album are Rory Block, Shemekia Copeland, Debbie Davies, Randi Fishenfeld, Sue Foley, Christine Ohlman, Maggie Rose, Joanne Shaw Taylor and Valerie Tyson.
The album is emblematic of Dion’s renewed creative output over the past few years continuing a storied career that now touches eight decades. He kicked off this decade with 2020’s 'Blues With Friends' and followed with 2021’s 'Stomping Ground'.
Girl Friends includes a commentary by Dion titled “The Feminine Genius” in which he notes, “I write about my preoccupations, and I know no better preoccupation than the female of the species. A friend of mine is a philosopher, and he talks often about ‘the feminine genius’ - the undeniable difference that’s in women and the difference that they make in the world. I’m grateful to my friend for giving it a name, because the fact has always been plain to me, but I could never put it into words.”
Dion observes, “I’ve noticed that men play a different tune when there are women in the room -  and it’s a different kind of jam when women are in the mix. I don’t know why this is so, but it is. Maybe we men, at some primitive level, are competing for their attention. As I said, I don’t know why or how. I do know it makes better music and we’re all better for it.
“I wanted the best music possible. So, I wrote up a batch of duets for me and my ‘girl friends,’ the women who inhabit my headphones - the women who make me turn up the volume when they drop into my radio. I invited them to join me, one by one, and here they are, wailing on the guitar and into the microphone. You’ll hear the feminine genius in every groove of this record, and you won’t forget any of it”.
