Was reminded recently of being at Pride in WeHo (second gayest neighborhood in California) a couple years ago and I saw this beautiful family and the twelve year old daughter was whining about "this is boringgggg" and one of her moms grabbed her arm and went “Braelyn! We are here to support the other families! This is our community! Stop bitching!” It was fucking delightful that's how I know we've made real strides in our fight for equality when Pride is some shitty tween's version of being dragged to church every sunday

there has been more moments than i can count in the past seven months where i felt destroyed by all the death and carnage i've seen due to the colonialism and imperialism of the world. but there was something in particular about hind's death that made me think the world would stop turning bc how could anything continue given how gruesome and inhumane her death was? and yet, the world did not stop. and i thought we were once again left to remember her story only in our minds as she became another number, as her murderers went on killing unpunished, and as her mother grieved with rage when all she wanted was to keep her daughter warm and as safe as she could manage in this man-made hell on earth.

however, hind, a girl who only got to experience her kindergarten graduation, is now being immortalized in universities across the nation. her story did resonate to the masses and we will not let her be forgotten nor forgive those complicit in her death. real justice would be having hind alive, but these students are showing that they will stop the world and burn the status quo it upholds to the ground if it means her people can truly be liberated.

Instead of framing it as "male lonliness epidemic" we should focus on how one: being a "man" in white American culture in particular is a deeply isolating experience and two: being isolated is like the number 1 thing that leads people to joining cults or otherwise adopting pretty horrific ideologies

Like theres guys out there who need help but feel they can't ask for it because it will make them seem weak and that goes counter to their idea of what a Man should be. This hypothetical highly isolated guy who is suffering in silence finds the wrong message board at the right time, and then he gets lead down a really dark path. Almost entirely because of toxic (white) masculinity

Idk what the solution is, since obviously women don't owe it to men to be therapists and educators, but also these guys are often either unable (broke) or unwilling to see therapists. I'm just saying words on the internet.
