the silent breath exchanged between them is yet a further bout of symbolism toward their bond; a relationship developed through a series of simple gestures and a desire to protect. this child who so willingly followed him into danger without question for her safety. lord sesshomaru would save her, no matter the costs that was what she knew.
❝ rin, you’re going to stay at the village. ❞ he spoke of the human settlement up ahead. it was certainly larger than kaede’s hamlet beside the ill-named forest of inuyasha. yet, it was a place where few feudal warlords tread. a place here in the east where his father’s clan had made their mark upon the land. ❝ wait there with a-un until jaken and i return. do you understand? ❞
Her joy was rather SHORT LIVED, face falling just slightly at the words -- of course, she was used to being kept away from the danger, but, that also meant that she would be spending time away from her Lord. Rin was a girl that was used to loneliness, but, that didn’t stop her from being a bit resistant to the idea of being left behind, even if it was only for a short while.
“Why can’t Rin ever help?” came her inquiry after the pause of taking in his words. She understood that she was only a human in a pack of demons and she was certainly LUCKY to be kept alive around them, but, she wanted so bad to be of some use. Despite that, she also understood she was weaker than them . . . and was certainly get in the way. This thought made her drop her gaze and nod. “I understand, Lord Sesshoumaru.”

jaken is right ; he looks on her with such soft eyes. amber gaze is bright yet gentle across her offered innocence. perhaps it is that innocence, that kindness, that spurs him on to appease her. he knew that he should have left her in a human village back then. or any time after that, in fact. and yet there was no real way of knowing that she would be SAFE.
his fingers take that flower, twirling it left and right between fine digits, and place it between tufts of black hair and the back of her ear. the petals are pretty, light-colored and dainty; everything needed to compliment this wolfish girl of a child. he hopes that is answer enough.
For a moment, PANIC flashed in her mind, dark eyes widening as thoughts rushed into her head. Did he not like them? She only wanted to please her Lord and she only thought that the sweetly scented object might somehow appease him.
As quickly as those thoughts came, they were gone; eyes of curiosity -- no longer panic stricken as they were moments ago -- following the slender hand until she felt the flower slide into place, tucked behind her ear. Rins’ once HOPE FILLED face turned into that of a grin, eyes squinting shut. “I’m so happy you like it, Lord Sesshoumaru!!” somehow she knew the message he was getting across and had no qualms with expressing her JOY.

calm are the eyes that watch her, switching from her face to the flowers clasped tightly in her hands. his claws are ginger in how they pluck one from her, examining it between thumb and forefinger.
Child - like eyes landed the hand as it took a flower in it, following up to the demons face, almost HOPING to see some sort of approval on it. “Does Lord Sesshoumaru like it?” she pipped up -- she certainly wanted him to like them as much as she did.
