Black Butterflies and Deja vu by The Maine
Roy never really understood at first just what it was about Jamie Tartt that simultaneously made him furious and speechless. At first, he just thought Jamie was another hyped up prick. Someone that had been praised a little too much. An ego bigger than his head. A pretty boy that would pout the moment the spotlight was off of him, and he blamed it on that. He blamed the funny feeling in his chest, and the way he rarely had a comeback for Jamie's antics on the fact that Jamie was an asshole and Roy didn't deal with those anymore. He blamed his lack of words and the feeling in stomach every time Jamie on his dislike of the other but he knew better now. It made him chuckle whenever he reminisced about it now. He knew now that it had always been Jamie, even when he was a prick. He just hadn't been ready to accept it yet. The person he was back then and the person that Jamie had been just weren't meant to realise it, but they had, slowly, with time found their way to each other. And now as he watched Jamie chase Phoebe around their back-garden, Roy knew that that feeling in is stomach was butterflies. Even after all this time, Roy got butterflies in his stomach when he saw Jamie. It had never faded, and he remembered the way that Rebecca had grinned at him at their wedding. How she had hugged him and echoed words he had said to her years ago, just for him to hear. "You found someone that makes you feel like you've been struck by lightening, Roy. Don't fuck this up", she had whispered to him, kissing his cheek, and the unspoken threat about how she would end him for ever daring to hurt himself and Jamie by fucking this up wasn't lost on him. He knew now that he wasn't ever letting Jamie Tartt go. He'd follow his husband to the ends of the Earth or into those stupid clubs that gave him headaches that Jamie still liked to unwind in with the team. Jamie was his forever, and sometimes Roy still felt stupid and speechless around him but that was okay. It was just love reminding him that sometimes, you didn't need to say anything to say everything.

24 + Roy/Jamie 💜
Feel by Fletcher ❤️
Jamie knows he shouldn't be here, sat at the bar with Mae watching him with sad eyes, but he just keeps looking at his half empty drink and aches. He knew that confessing his feelings was going to end this way but still, his mum had always told him to be brave. So Jamie had been brave. He had taken the time at the end of their training to look Roy in the eyes, and confess that he had feelings for him. Jamie hadn't expect Roy to like him back, but he hadn't expect Roy to just stare and him and walk away. The rejection hurt more somehow with Roy having just walked away. It felt like Jamie meant nothing to him. That after all this time, Roy still didn't see Jamie, and Jamie didn't understand. How could Roy treat him so softly and help hold Jamie together during some of his worst moments just to leave him heartbroken on a park bench at 8am in the morning? Roy, who had been so worried about him that he stalked Jamie to his mum's, who had held him when the world had fallen from beneath him the night he had finally stood up for himself against his dad. Jamie had always known Roy could be mean, but he had never been cruel and yet that was the only word Jamie could use to describe it as he tried to drown his feelings in the bitter alcohol on his tongue. "Closin' up now, love", Mae said kindly, touching his hand and Jamie just nodded, "Do you need me to call someone? How about Ted? He's only round the corner" "No thanks Mae, I'm okay", Jamie tried to smile but he was so tired. She tried to say something else, tried to get Jamie to stay but he just shook his head. He paid for his drink, refusing change, and gave Mae a goodnight before stepping out into the cold, bitter night. Part of him hoped that the cold would numb the pain in a way alcohol didn't seem to be working. He just wanted it to stop. He wanted the pain to end but it seemed hopeless as he made his way through empty streets. This was a bone deep pain that cut Jamie at his core, because how couldn't it? He had wanted Roy for longer than he cared to admit, and the other hadn't even had the courage to let him down gently. It hurt to know that he would have to see Roy every day and know what happened between them. That he would have to smile and be the Jamie everyone had come to love when right now, he didn't feel like that man anymore. His heart was too broken to piece together the person the team had grown to love as he toed at stone while waiting for the cross walk man to turn green. Maybe someday this wouldn't hurt so much, but right now, Jamie would give up everything for a moment of peace from his emotions. (Or maybe, as he finally found his way home to a familiar silhouette sitting on his porch with their head in their hands, just maybe this would be okay)

I blame the picture I reblogged before this for this fic (and @f1-birb)
"Jamie" Jamie didn't look up at the soft call of his name. He kept his eyes on his hand. His forearms rested on his knees, his back against the wall of the tunnel leading to the pitch. His hands crossed over at the wrist, and Jamie traced the way the droplets from the rain rolled off his fingers onto the ground. They, like Jamie's tears, made no noise as they did. "Can I touch you, love?", a body crouched in front his. A hand reached for his hood to lower it but it didn't touch until Jamie let a soft hum. "Was it nightmares again?" Jamie's jaw tensed. He could feel the muscle in his cheek twitching with how hard he was clenching as he flexed cold fingers. He hated this. He hated that despite all the progress that he had made, a little bit of thunder had sent him spiraling. The sounds reminding him of the sound of metal as it crushed around him, and then there was a smell clinging to the inside of his nose. The smell of burning rubber and the metallic tinge of blood that had run down his face from his hairline. It had been a year since the crash but tonight it had felt as if Jamie was right back there in the team bus, screaming for Roy to open his eyes. "Babe, I'm right here", Roy promised, tipping Jamie's chin upwards until Jamie finally looked at him. His eyes desperately searching for blood, for cuts and scratches that had covered Roy's face because when the crash had hit, he had thrown himself over Jamie and Sam to try protect them from the glass. The prick. Sam and he had walked away from that crash with superficial injuries. Roy hadn't walked away. He had been wheeled away into an ambulance and straight into surgery where Jamie couldn't follow. "You weren't there when I woke up", Jamie whispered, his jaw trembling as he held back more tears, blinking up at his partner, "You weren't there and I had to...I couldn't..." Roy didn't judge him. Not for this. He just sat down despite the wet patches, despite the rain blowing in form the opening of the tunnel, and pulled Jamie into his lap. His kiss against Jamie's temple felt like a soothing balm to his soul as Jamie rested a hand over Roy's heart just to feel it beating. "I'm here. I'm sorry I wasn't when you woke up. Call me old man, but I fell asleep on the sofa and didn't wake until the door slammed", Roy begrudgingly admitted, and if it were any other night, Jamie would tease him for what he had admitted but not tonight. Tonight Jamie just held him. He breathed in his familiar scent, and let his body begin to untense because Roy was here. The thunder rolled on outside and Jamie just kept breathing.

Thanks to a little chat with @f1-birb brought this about:
"I don't see why we have to fucking do this"
Roy was grumbling. His fingers tugging at the santa hat that Jamie had wrangled him into. It was a bright red, matching the lettering on Roy's black Christmas jumper that had 'Santa' written on it.
" 'cause it's fun babe!", Jamie grinned as he fixed the little hats on their ten month old triplets heads.
He was wearing an elf Christmas hat that matched their babies, and his jumper read 'Head Elf'. The triplets were wearing matching footie pajamas that were designed to look like elf costumes that said 'Santa's little helper'.
Tilly had a grimace on her face that matched Roy's. Pippy was tugging at the feet of the pajamas and cooing, making little sounds that Roy was taking as complaints about her outfit while their little boy was giggling. Alfie's face was full of joy, beaming as he tried to catch the little jingling ball at the tip of Jamie's hat before he managed to pull it off with a laugh that had his sisters looking at him.
"I look stupid", Roy replied with a sigh, but he couldn't help but smile at the image his little family made.
This time last year they had been picturing this moment. Roy had been so nervous but Jamie had just been glowing. His hand on his stomach, talking about how amazing it would be to get to experience a first Christmas with their little family. How beautiful it would be to have them all together.
And he had been right.
Roy had thought he'd only ever get to experience Phoebe's first Christmas. That a family was something he would never have outside of his football family at Richmond, but Jamie had come into his life with the grace of a wrecking ball and given Roy everything he had never dared to dream of.
So if Jamie wanted them to wear costumes and take a silly family picture for their Christmas cards, then Jamie got what he wanted because Roy loved him more than he'd ever have the words to express.
"We don't...we don't have to do it if you don't wanna babe", Jamie bit his lip nervously, fixing his hat back on his head as he glanced at Roy.
Roy just gave him a smile and leaned in to kiss his cheek softly. Reassuring Jamie that he was only grumbling.
"We only have ten minutes before Pippy throws a fit at her outfit, so crack on Tartt", Roy teased, playfully swatting at Jamie's ass.
"That's Kent to you actually", Jamie beamed the way he always did when he got to correct someone about his new legal surname.
Their wedding had been a quick, quiet affair just for them and their families and later, the team who insisted on throwing a party for them, but it was perfect.
Their family was perfect, and Roy wouldn't give this up for anything in the world.

Omega Roy with Jamie and song number 23
Ooooo I love this song and this au ❤️
Take my hand - Picture This
It was a random Tuesday morning at 6am when Jamie had realised that he wanted Roy as more than a friend.
He didn't remember why or how the thought had crossed his mind. All he had known was that one moment he looked up and Roy was smiling. A tiny, fleeting thing that was so quick that he almost missed it but it made his heart race with the thought "I want to make him smile every day".
He had thought it'd freak him out more than it did because this was Roy. One of the most defensive and closed off omegas that Jamie had ever met, and one of the first ones to look at Jamie's cocky, overblown macho alpha act and growl at him because he wasn't impressed.
Back then, Jamie had been a prick. He'd viewed himself as the alpha of the team, and Roy's refusal to engage with him had tormented him until Jamie had realised he didn't want to be this person.
He'd worked on himself. Worked with Dr Sharon to untangle all the stereotypes that had been ingrained in him by his father's fists and words until Jamie felt safe enough to be himself, to be soft and playful and sweet. All the things he was told alphas couldn't be, and it was then that Roy had started to finally let him in a little.
And if anyone heard Jamie's thoughts, they'd probably joke that Jamie was the omega out of the two of them because as they lay together, legs tangled on the sofa with half empty glasses of rosé and Jamie's head on Roy's chest, all Jamie could think was he wanted this forever.
He wanted to wrap Roy in his arms and kiss him stupid. He wanted to be the little spoon in bed, and wear Roy's shirts that made him feel small and loved. Jamie wanted to take Roy on romantic dates, woo him until the other blushed and kiss him in front of twinkling lights.
Jamie wanted to show Roy that he would love him so wholly and truly that everyone around them would look at them and think "I want that".
"What's got you vibrating like a lap cat?", Roy's voice pulled him from his thoughts as fingers tugged at his hair softly. He hadn't even realised that he was rumbling until Roy had distracted him.
Jamie, normally, would give a little growl and bat the others hand away from his hair, but today he felt soft and in love.
"Just love ya so much", Jamie admitted as he tilted his head up to look at Roy, "Gonna show ya everyday, yeah? Be all romantic and shit"
Roy's dark eyes seemed to sparkle at little at Jamie's words, and he got a little rare Roy smile in return.
"Oh yeah?", Roy questioned, a barely audible purr started in his chest, "Going to hold my hand and shit?"
" 'Course I am", Jamie grinned, "I'm gonna make us a love they sing songs about"
He could see a little flush rising on Roy's cheeks at the sincerity of his words and it made Jamie want to kiss him so he did. All sweet and soft and slow and romantic until he was bracketing Roy in against the couch, lying chest against chest.
"There's only you for me, yeah?", Jamie whispered against his lips as the omega closed his eyes under the weight of Jamie's love.
The kiss he got in return was all he needed as an answer to know just how much Roy agreed with that idea.

A little Grumpy Omega Roy fic
Jamie didn't notice the missed call until he was out of the shower and ready to collapse into bed. Training had been brutal, but it was what he'd expected when he'd gotten the call to play for England.
It wasn't odd for him to have a missed call. Normally it was from one of his agents or a reporter or mostly, his Dad who kept finding new ways to contact him despite Jamie blocking every unknown number flat popped up across his screen.
What was strange about this call was that it was from Roy, and Roy rarely called him. Normally, Roy would spam him with texts despite all of them teasing him about his age. He hated phone calls more than Jamie did, so seeing a missed call without any texts had the alpha growing nervous as he fumbled to call him back.
Roy didn't pick up, and Jamie couldn't help but let out a little whine. Being away from his omega and his child was already a lot, but this had Jamie close to driving to make sure they were both okay.
He was starting to spiral a little when Roy's name flashed up on the screen, and Jamie didn't hesitate answer.
"Roy? Everythin' alright?"
There was silence on the other end. All Jamie could really make out was the faint sound of Roy's breathing. The little hitch in it made Jamie want to whine because he knew, somehow he just knew, that Roy was hurting.
"Babe, talk to me. Has something happened?"
"Jamie", Roy sounded exhausted and sad. It made the alpha want to bundle him in his arms and press kisses to his face until he relaxed but all Jamie could do was grip his phone tight, "Jamie, your dad showed up at the nursery and tried to take Elodie"
Jamie's blood ran cold at those words, so many things bombarded his mind all at once with panic being the main one.
"I'm coming home", is all Jamie could get out. His heart was hammering as he sat up on the bed, already reaching for keys and trying to think of the fastest way back to his family. He needed to be there. He needed to protect them. If he'd been there, Elodie would have been with them, she would have been safe.
"Jamie, Jamie, stop", Roy raised his voice a little and when Jamie growled, the omega growled back louder until Jamie passed, "Elodie is safe. He never even got to see her. Look, turn on your camera"
Jamie didn't hesitate to switch to video call.
Instantly, his daughters image filled the screen. She was snoring audibly. One of her little fists grasped at the shirt Roy was wearing, right over his heart and her little tuft of curls were in disarray as if she'd been asleep for a while now.
Seeing her made him relax. His body sagging as he sat back down on the bed.
"He didn't touch her?"
"He didn't even know she's a she, babe", Roy reassured, "He showed up, gave our names and showed proof that he was your dad. They called me because he's not on the list and when I told them not to let him near Elodie, he threw a bitch fit"
"Thank fuck", Jamie sighed, running a hand over his face and smiling slightly when Roy angled the phone so he could see both of them, "I can tell the coach there's been an emergency"
"No, Jamie. We're okay. We'll see you at the weekend, yeah? Just two more days love", Roy argued back with a glare, "I just wanted to tell you before some asshole got word of your dad's arrest and you'd to find out from Instagram or some shit"
Jamie nodded, biting at his lip as he watched them. His chest aching to be there with them, to scent them both and make sure they were truly okay because he knew Roy was downplaying it to make Jamie comfortable.
"I'll be home soon, yeah?", Jamie whispered, blinking back the tears he felt burning his eyes.
"Yeah love, you will", Roy gave a soft smile but it didn't quiet reach his eyes and from the way Eloide started to grumble, Jamie knew that Roy's scent must be giving away how he really felt.
"Love you", Jamie replied, wanting to burn the words into both of their minds until it stuck.
"Love you too, babe", Roy replied before hanging up and then Jamie was alone again.
And all he could do was wish that they were here with him, safe and sound and within his sight.

My brain right now:
What if in one of the au's with kids, Roy gets a call to say that someone tried to pick up the babies for nursery but wasn't on the approved list?
What if they tell him that the man that tried to pick up his little one(s) had Jamie's last name and claimed he was the grandad?

Bringing back omega Roy au because I miss it
"You don't have to be so defensive all the time, Roy"
Ted's words made Roy want to growl as he clenched his hand around his pen. The American beta was watching him as if he was judging him. As if he hadn't just watched a reporter get dragged out of the room by Beard for the way he started questioning Roy's abilities to coach because he was a "washed up, bitter omega".
Roy had managed to get a few colourful words in in response before Beard had dragged the reporter out of the media room. Yes, he had been defensive, and yes he had told the rest of the reporters that that outdated traditionalist thinking was bullshit, but he had done it to protect his players.
Roy had grown up with his status being used against him. He'd been mocked and pushed until he had snapped and knocked a kid out cold for the way they had tried to touch him. He had dealt with years of verbal abuse that was meant to "make him toughen up" but had only made him hate himself and his designation.
So maybe he was defensive, but he knew how badly words like those could teat down his players like Colin, or even Richard despite the French man being one of the most unapologetically omega players Roy had ever met.
"Words have power Ted", Roy replied, a slight growl in his throat and he knew his scent was stinking up the place, "I don't have to sit there and listen to that bullshit"
"Ya don't", Ted agreed, rubbing at his chin, "But that don't mean you gotta jump down their throats like a hidden bone in a fish to choke them"
"Ted", Beard warned, the alpha not looking up from his book in the adjoining office.
"All I'm saying is I don't get it", Ted defended, "Just let it slide off, keep moving like Dory says"
"That's just keep swimmin', Coach", Jamie's accent joined the conversation as he pushed passed Ted, "And I need to talk to grandad 'ere about that last play, so...."
Ted hesitated in the door, clearly not wanting to end the discussion. He glanced at Roy who was staring at the wall, and decided it wasn't worth the fight as he raised his hands and left.
Jamie wasted no time in closing the door behind him and locking it. He pulled the shutters down too, cutting off Ted's view of the office before he moved to kneel beside Roy. His hands gentle on Roy's thighs as he looked up at the other.
"Alright, lad?", Jamie asked softly.
Roy growled weakily before he let Jamie's scent wrap around him and he relaxed slightly. One of his hands went to Jamie's hair, grimacing at the feel of whatever leave in conditioner Jamie had used at the match.
"I don't need protecting", Roy warned because he knew that Jamie had smelled his distress and anger before he'd intervened.
"I know. Roy Kent's a big bad omega army of one", Jamie grinned, and there was nothing but truth in his eyes, "Doesn't mean I can't be his sexeh little alpha watching proudly as he tears apart the world"
Jamie's words got a laugh out of Roy. It was more like an annoyed huff, but Jamie's entire face lit up anyways as if he'd just scored a winning goal.
"Do you wanna talk 'bout it?"
Roy just shook his head. He was tired, too tired to keep fighting this fight that he'd been tackling since he was sixteen and freshly presented after his first mock heat.
"Wanna go 'ome and take a bubble bath and get drunk on wine?", Jamie pressed a kiss against Roy's palm.
"Fuck yeah"
