Duuuuude I love thinking about this. I’ve had a headcanon for a while that Paula’s fingerprints are burned off since she’s used fire since she was a toddler. I imagine with like proper training they can become more immune to physically casting it but if they’re inexperienced then it hurts. There’s no escaping thunder in water tho that’s gonna get ya
I love the idea that PSI users aren't immune to their own moves. You have to summon fire away from you so you don't get burned. You have to be careful with PK freeze so you don't get frostbite. Don't cast PK Thunder while you're in water.
And I'm not even gonna start rambling about PSI scars from Rockin', Love, Starstorm or Ground.
Man, I really liked Earthbound back when I first played it... I couldn't stop thinking about the game, absolutely devoured it! I also did this Ness fanart where I tried to work with colored pencils more or less ^^
This must've been right during the pandemic, so 2021 I'm pretty sure, but I can't remember very well...
Thinking pre-timeskip tazmily was some quaint utopia tainted by Porky/capitalism flattens the story quite a bit. In my opinion, the point was since the Tazmilians chose to forget history instead of learn from it, they were susceptible to the same downfalls as before, Porky just accelerated it.
Tazmily likely would have lasted much longer without his involvement, but their ignorance made them easy to persuade into speedrunning inhumane industrialization and consumerism, so they may have made the same mistakes more gradually without his interference.
