How to Deal with Haters Everyone who's ever tried to better themselves has come across haters. They're the people who say things like, "That'll never work" or "Who does he think he is?" Haters are often insecure and threatened by people who are trying to improve themselves. They may be jealous of your success, (or attempt at it) or they may simply not understand what you're trying to achieve. The best way to deal with haters is to ignore them. Don't let their negativity get to you. Stay focused on your goals and don't let anyone stand in your way. If you must respond to a hater, do so with kindness and compassion, this is a liberating, powerful way to deal with them. Here are a few more tips for dealing with haters: Don't take it personally. Haters are not attacking you, they are attacking what you're trying to do because its a reflection of their lack of action, generally. Stay focused on your goals. Don't let haters distract you from what you're trying to achieve. Surround yourself with positive people. The people you spend time with have a big impact on your mood and outlook on life. Make sure you're surrounded by people who support your dreams. It is important to observe the reactions of friends, a true friend will be happy if you’re trying something new to improve your life, if they aren’t, it might be worth a rethink. Have you ever experienced cognitive dissonance? 🤔 It's a psychological phenomenon that occurs when we hold two conflicting beliefs or values, and it can cause feelings of discomfort and confusion. 😕 For example, you might believe that you're a healthy person who takes good care of yourself, 🏋️‍♂️🥗🍎 but you also love junk food and don't exercise regularly. 🍟🍔🍩 This conflict can create cognitive dissonance. But why does this matter? Well, when we experience cognitive dissonance, we often try to resolve it by changing one of our beliefs or behaviours. So if you're aware of your cognitive dissonance, you can use it as a tool to make positive changes in your life. 👍 This is also very common in work environments, do you hate your job and stay there? This will almost certainly cause internal conflict.
