epiphany
i just had an epiphany.
i think i finally understand why i can't land on "what i want to do" with my life, or why i'm not really THAT good at anything, just okay at a lot of things. i never really got super motivated to be super good at any one thing. (except bartending, i guess. but that was just because i wanted to make a lot of money)
i don't want anything to define me.
i look around me and so many people have these things that define them. "bartender," "alcoholic," "glass blower," "stoner," "mother," "snowboarder," "writer," "wife." and it's fine for them. they want those things to define them. they like it.
i don't want to be pigeonholed. i want people to think of me as just me. when people ask me to describe myself, i just say i'm awesome. nothing defines me except me. which also makes me look unmotivated, i realize. but i know i'm not.
i dunno. it made a lot more sense in my head.

Curvy girls
I think it is a hideous double standard that "curvy" (aka fat) girls can talk all the shit they want about skinny girls, how it's better to be curvy than thin, actually go as far as to say that if you're thin you're ugly, blah blah blah, but the second someone calls a girl "bigger" or "curvy" or, fuck it, "fat," they get totally shit on and judged. how on earth is this any different?
Today I saw a photo post that read, "Curvy girls are beautiful. Bones are for dogs, meat is for men." What the actual fuck? That is so fucking rude and fucked up! Insinuating that if you're not 'curvy' then you aren't attractive? I'm not necessarily the tiniest girl in the world, but I am small, and I take offense to that just as much as any girl sensitive about her weight would take offense to me saying "any girl who weighs over 150 lbs is not beautiful." How about this? We're ALL beautiful, be proud of who you are and what you look like, and let's not tear each other down because we don't all look exactly the same. Differences are what make us great. Petty bullshit and ripping each other apart for no reason doesn't.

One time, I'm going to begin working out and not stop and reach my goals. It WILL happen eventually. As for now, this is attempt 98273901, feels like.
This is just a 1 month plan I'm on for right now. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves this time. Maybe if I keep trying different things, eventually one of them will work.
December 2012 Goals:
1) Run (or run/walk) 100 miles (100 calories per mile)

Day I'm not sure because I went on a 3 day binge
So, friday, Saturday, and Sunday involved work, along with drinking mass amounts of alcohol, eating crappy food late at night, smoking cigarettes, and staying up until about 6am, then turning around and waking up at 11 and doing it all over again. Needless to say, I fell off the wagon, and I fell hard. So after all that hard work last week, I weighed in at 141 on Monday. I gained a lb. Monday I slept until 4:30, watched some tv, then took a nap until like 8. I needed it bad. So that was 3 days of no workout, and I didn't run on Friday. but last night I resolved to get back on the wagon today.
Nobody said it was easy. No one ever said it would be so hard. I'm going back to the start.
So I woke up at about 7, drank my jack3d, ate my toast, waited for the jack3d to kick in, did my 6 min morning routine, and just didn't have it in me to do the 100cal workout, so I immediately went for my run, picking up where I left off last week. Wasn't super sure I was gonna make it all the way through, considering I didn't even feel like I could make it through the 100cal, but I had to get out there before it got too hot. And not only did I make it, I ran an 11:03 min mile, which is considerably faster than what I have been doing lately, which have been in the high 12, low 13 min range. The last 5 min was difficult, but by the time I got through contemplating if I should just give up, I was already through it. I couldn't think of any of my catch phrases (except for no, your legs arent that tired, yes, you can breathe) so I just thought about whether or not I would make it and all of a sudden, I was done. Funny how that works. Now, I'm amped that I did all that, but I'm unsure if I can finish the rest of my workout right now, even though I really want to. I'm wiped out and really want a nap. The jack3d was good for the run, but I've spent up all that extra energy. So I suppose I should just take a nap, maybe have another spoonful of jack3d when I wake up, and do the rest of my routine. I guess that sounds good. Nighty night.

Random rambles
I'm wondering if what I'm looking at on the scale (despite the fact that I know it's not going to change significantly in 4 days, I weigh myself every day just the same) is because I started my period today...the pesky thing. I was looking in the mirror today and felt so huge and disgusting (besides the fact that my muscles felt nice and tight) and then realized oh. I know girls tend to gain water weight before/during their periods, so I wonder if by next Tuesday the number on the scale will be even smaller than I'm anticipating. Because of the water weight and everything. Whatever, as long as its lower than 140 I'm happy. The thought of 140 lbs makes me want to puke. I can't believe I let this happen. No more. Unless you puke, faint, or die, KEEP GOING.
