As a full time artist it is easy to put every minute of your working (and non working) day towards promoting your works. Whilst you can't force a sale, you can't just sit around and 'hope' you will get one. However there are many times after weeks of dedicated promotion work where there are still no sales. Opposed to being defeated I spend that 'spare' time creating more pieces. But once you have done all of the promotion you can feasibly do and you have made all you can make and there's still no sales for a week or two it can be a very disheartening feeling. But this can all change. Persevere and good things will inevitably happen. Today - This happened !! I sold two artworks and here is one of them. I don't know if the client knows how much this means to me, but when you are purchasing directly from an artist, you are doing so much more than buying an artwork. You are giving the artist a huge feeling of self-worth, you are giving them a reason to continue and you are shedding any doubts they have accrued. I will put the profits of this sale towards a new camera for the business (and some obligatory landscape photography) New paints and an order of resin and more importantly, this week's groceries.
