Ducks will chase laser pointers just like cats do, so I imagine Duckworth spent a lot of time entertaining baby Donald with one. It was cheap, it was easy, and Donald found endless entertainment in chasing that elusive red dot. The real surprise came when Scrooge passed by and tried to capture the dot as well.

have you heard of the kid who, instead of having an imaginary friend, has an imaginary boss? little donald was briefly like that, talking about tax returns and stock prices into his toy phone. scrooge thinks it's the single most adorable thing he's ever seen, and duckworth thinks that scrooge gave the kid a complex.
Awww that’s so adorable!! Little does Scrooge know, Donald complains about his imaginary boss only to Duckworth. Scrooge wouldn’t get it. He doesn’t have a boss.
(Also thinking about Donald owning a “don’t talk to me before I’ve had my morning chocolate milk” mug. He’s a regular 9 to 5'ver. He even has a Garfield day calendar. MONDAYS, AMIRITE?)
