Thea hummed as she spun on her heel to face him again. “I do like muffins.” She grinned shyly while she thought through the menu at the cafe. It would be hard to choose. “You’re not gonna be late for class?” Cause she was, but food.

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ ❝ NAW , NOT AT ALL ❞ reece replies with a box smile. i would be late , IF i was going , he thought to himself , trying to ignore that little voice inside of him that was telling him NOT to skip his first class of the day. it sounded slightly like his mother ... may it WAS his mother. shaking himself out of his thoughts , he grabs the girl by the wrist. “ c'mon , ”

“Good. Get your Windex ready,” Chloe warned with a smirk. Clearly her assault in the previous years had the desired effect on the boys. “This year is gonna be bigger and better.”

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ ❝ REECE TRIES TO MASK HIS WHIMPER ❞ , the thought of another year of trying to clean egg-yolks off the windows made him sick to his stomach. “ dammit chloe ... if you do it .... i'll ... pay you not to ? ” he finished weakly , sighing as he did.

noah let out a small ’ hmph ’ as he settled back into his chair. “ you really never questioned it ? i mean, it all seems so strange … carving a face in a pumpkin, and for what reason ? just because ? because that’s just a waste of a pumpkin … ” he shook his head, scrolling through his phone.

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ ❝ REECE SIGHS EXASPERATEDLY ❞ as noah continues to interrogate him about the origins of halloween. i mean how was he supposed to know ?? when reece first stepped foot in this country , he promised himself to just follow the motions and do whatever was tradition here in america , no questions asked. it was easier to survive that way. “ why don't you GOOGLE IT , noah , ” he sighed again , pulling his phone out to google it himself , as the other's questions were starting to get to reece.

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ ❝ OH , HELL NO , ❞ reece looks up from his phone , eyebrows knitted. “ it took us WEEKS to clean all the hardened-egg on the windows , and the smell was just plain AWFUL , ” he crinkles his nose , just recollection of the memory making reece want to gag.

“If you see any toilet paper on sale, like half off or whatever, pick it up for me. Oh, and eggs. Gotta get ready for Halloween.” She was half-joking, although she was planning on trashing the frat house if she could get away with it. Sometimes the classics were just as good as her more troublesome, and creative, techniques of riling people up. 

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ ❝ MUNCHING HIS LUNCH ❞ reece nods in agreement. “ i see what you mean , autumn is just ... comforting , ” he replies , taking another bite of his food.

        “october is such a nice month – actually, scratch that…every month in the autumn season is great.” lena let out a dreamy sigh, sitting up from her spot in the grass. “sweater weather. don’t get me wrong, summer is absolutely my season, but there’s something comforting about autumn that i can’t put my finger on.”

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ ❝ AT FIRST REECE WAS WORRIED – ❞ he assumed that charlie was going to ask him to help her host some halloween ball or something. but then he realized , this was charlie , no way she was going to ask him to help her host a halloween party. i doubt anyone would trust him with a responsibility like that , and instead reece got excited when the girl had asked him to help her pick out a costume. “ of course , we don't want last year's catastrophe to happen again, do we , ” reece said while casually clearing his throat.

( °. “ I KNOW OCTOBER has o n l y just begun, “, charlotte started as she grabbed her bag and stood up from the table she was seated at, “ but i know how big of a deal halloween is around here, opposed to back at home ? and i’m pretty sure there’ll be at least some sort of halloween party to attend… “, she continued as her eyes found the ones of the person she was talking to, “ so i want my costume to be absolutely perfect. and – i need some help with it. because i’m the actual worst at making decisions like these all by myself. i need a trustworthy opinion. “, the blonde finished. “ you think you can do it ? “, charlie asked, raising a brow in a rather teasing manner as she hoped the other would agree on helping her out.

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ ❝ I'M ... NOT SURE ... ❞ reece stutters , giving the other a shrug. growing up during his teenage years in america , reece had learned to just accept whatever wild ceremonies they did in america , pumpkin carving bring one of them.

“ did you know they used to carve turnips instead of pumpkins ? ” noah asked to the person sitting across from him, only glancing up from his phone for a moment. “ why … why do you guys even carve pumpkins ? that doesn’t make sense. what’s the reasoning for carving anything for halloween ? ”

Thea smiled and relaxed with a tilt of her head. “I’ve gotta run. Get some sleep, alright?”

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ ❝ WAIT. ❞ reece quickly says before she leaves. “ lemme make it up to you for – well , practically running you over , ” the boy bit his lip. “ i could buy you a coffee or a muffin or something from the café ... if you want ... ”

♡ ・°. ❝ ft. juliet ❞

❝ heey reece. ❞ an overzealous voice wavered in uncertainty, palms instantly clammy at the sight of her ex right net to the entrance. she thought about coming back later, or skipping the meal entirely to avoid the awkward situation, but juliet didn’t want to hide out from reece. he’s still the sweet guy she dated, even if they weren’t anymore. so, she placed the biggest smile on her face to mask her nerves and awkwardly shifted her weight. ❝ umm… how are you ? i haven’t really seen you since … ❞ she stopped mid sentence and bit her lip, unable to say the word breakup without melting in a puddle of awkward on the cafeteria floor.

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ ❝ REECE HOPED HE WOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE ❞ the situation like a man. ( or at least , not try to make the scene more awkward as it was ). juliet chambers was a really sweet girl. truly. but reece just hadn't really ... felt anything for her anymore – and he felt like an asshole for breaking up with juliet , who hadn't done anything wrong. he would've still remained friends with the girl if it wasn't for the guilt that was eating him up inside of him , worried that he had really hurt her. but juliet seemed happy enough as it was ( as he may or may not have been stalking the girl once in awhile) so when the girl had called out his name , reece flashed his usual box smile , trying to be oblivious to juliet's expression and tone. maybe she really was alright , although reece immediately changed his mind after juliet had almost said ‘BREAK-UP’ , grin changing into a frown in a matter of seconds. “ it ' s nice to see you , too , jules , ” the boy said with a smile , this one more strained. “ how ... how have you been ? ”

“What? Oh no. Probably not at least, I think.” She shrugged. “How about you? I mean, obviously you were able to keep your feet under you but honestly you might just have good reflexes.” Then quieter to herself, “I’ve gotta update my sigils.” She mumbled the last part to herself as a bit of a reminder.

✧ ˚ ⋆ ｡ ❝ GOOD , GOOD, ❞ reece nods with a small smile , happy the girl wasn't TOO hurt. “ eh , i guess my brain actually functions at times , ” he replies at the comment about his reflexes , which reece himself was glad that they actually functioned correctly , or at least functioned while he was sleep-deprived. the boy notices the other mumble something , but doesn't hear it quite well. “ pardon? ”
