Well, after a lot of careful thought, I’m sending these 3 plushies to Pancake:
A skeleton unicorn (why not love unicorns? And it’s a skeleton!).
A cookie (because apparently it’s Pancake’s favorite?).
And a sword (a weapon that they can swing and learn to handle before trying the real thing).
I know it’s a little overkill 3 at a time… but I couldn’t decide for just 1! I hope they are acceptable.
(I really wanted to send a book. But I think teddies are something more like Pancake. Books can wait when they have a better understanding of words)

Castellar’s birthday is February 29th, which makes them a leap year baby! They can only celebrate their birthday every 4 years, which makes it extra special!

Nacho: * Yes!! But it is not only us!!! Papirus’ Gordo is, how you say it, extreme? He is extreme with the pibecito!
* His people think that the baby is weak and needs to be protected from everything! Everything!!! Even things that are not alive!!!
Nacho: *So, their Papa went crazy trying to make the house safe for them! So safe that the adults have problems doing normal things, like opening the refrigerator!
* He has pool spaghetti around the edge of the table! He has baby gates on all the doors! Locks on the trashcans! Books and things only can be on the second shelf!
Nacho: * Of course, while Papi’s Gordito was making the house “safe,” Shasha needs to be protected!
* So, we come back to find the poor creature completely covered with “defense” items, while their Papa is lining the corridor with pool spaghetti! And, he has not calmed down yet, jaja!

Stretch: *anyway! onto the funnies! * so, in Underfell, parents are pretty cautious with their babies, right? especially during their first three months of life, because they’re so little and impressionable and weak or whatever. which means they want to keep them safe, especially when there’s an unexpected situation or unknown visitor… like when the doorbell rings.* you guessed it: every single time the doorbell rang, Edge would stash our baby someplace nice and safe until the coast was clear…
Stretch: * of course, he didn’t tell me he did that or where he stashed them, at first. “operational security” as he calls it. * hehe, you can imagine i was really surprised the first few times i opened a cabinet to get some cereal and found Pancake instead. or when i was putting my hoodie away and found two very little feet peeking out from underneath the clothes. i found them all sorts of weird places…* uh, anyway, Edge doesn’t do that so much anymore… but i’m pretty sure it’s only because they won’t sit still for very long. he tends to keep them as close as possible, or hand them off to me and make me hang out by a door. * loads more, of course, but that one cracks me up everytime, heh.

How is Pancake's birthday, is it okay to give a gift (I remember Edge was not very comfortable with that)?
Edge: *Yes, of course! In Underswap, it is customary to bring them a gift. In Underfell, it is required!* Anything you want: toys, books, movies, clothes, food, weapons, spikes, chains! They will be very happy and grateful!
Edge: *I think, maybe, before, I was too... much. Pancake is my first child, so I am, maybe, a little too careful with them. * In Underfell, my home, presents are serious. Only for friends and family you know very well. And if you get a present, you give a present. * I... understand it is different here. It is different for humans. And it makes me happy so many people love my baby and want to make them happy. * I think it will be okay, even if it is not their birthday, and if my husband also agrees with it. Thank you.

OMG! It's been a year! How fast time passed. Congratulations Pancake !! Much health, success and all the best! I wonder if there will be cake, and if so, will it be red velvet?
Stretch: *aw, shucks, thanks so much, buddy! it’s hard to believe lil Pancake’s growing up so fast, huh? seems like just yesterday they were an itty bitty Souling!
Stretch: *and absolutely there’s cake!!! here it is! isn’t it cute?* so, in Underswap, the birthday kid’s community bakes and decorates the cake for them! all their friends, family, neighbors, basically the whole town comes together to make them a delicious, personalized cake.* but since Pancake’s a lucky ducky with family and friends from all over the place, everyone pitched in a little to help, including the Underfell relatives who had no idea what they were doing. *and yup, it’s red velvet. how’d ya guess, kiddo? ;)*there’s... uh... one problem...
Stretch: *Pancake doesn’t really like soft, squishy foods very much. so they don’t want to try any, despite their Dad’s best efforts.* i thought it was, like, a texture thing, since they like other sweet things like cookies just fine, but they like apple sauce and mashed potatoes just fine...* maybe it’s the color? the red freaks them out? but they eat beets and regularly chow down on green magic, so...* we’re not really sure what to do... no one else can have some until they eat a little bit... haha... kids, right?

Their official, legal name is Castellar.* their nickname from their Souling days was Pancake, and it’s sort of stuck. so lots of folks just keep calling them Pancake. * And they have so many other nicknames given by literally everyone else, so... they get kind of confused too.
Stretch:* ill be real- i don’t understand half of what these guys call Pancake. these are just some of the ones i hear the most.* it’s always said with like huge affection, and i’m sure half of it is Underfellese, but like... Casio? like the instrument company?? * and Baba?? isn’t that a grandmother?? * and Edge... i don’t know where he got it from, but he likes calling them Yaya? among literally everything else??*i don’t know if poor Pancake is ever going to learn their real name haha
