one thing i noticed (and am absolutely obsessed with) in carmy’s panic attack scene, we all see it’s the thought of syd that brings him down
one thing i loved is the specific scenes of syd it is. they’re not some random shots of them together, or some other solo shots of syd we get throughout the show, it’s specifically scenes where carmy was looking at her.
the first one was when she first arrived at the beef to stage, and carmy looks up at her from his station and basically stares at her for a good minute. the second one was when she came back after their blow up in the kitchen, and she’s walking in thru the front to get her check. she sees them finding all the money and, again, carmy looks up at her from counting the money and just stares, and smiles a bit. then they start riffing about the new restaurant and so forth
i just thought it was interesting that they picked those specific scenes to represent syd for us through him. like… allowing us to see her through his eyes.
