is it possible to get two thesis extensions? i got a week extension but am now about 48 hours from my new deadline with 25 pages still left to write. saying i'm on the verge of tears is an understatement
Response from Chewy:
Doesn't hurt to ask at this point! I would just come in expecting no 2nd extension, as a first extension is really rare in the first place.
Good luck!

my mirowave got confiscated during fire safety, how/when can i go back to retrieve my item
Response from Olive:
you'll have to wait for Housing to send out a general email announcing when confiscated appliance pickup can be scheduled. last year it was from may 10 - may 31, so you can probably expect something similar.

how do i go about getting a lawnparties guest ticket for my friend who will be visiting? what is the process for doing this and is it a competitive/difficult process? any tips on doing this would be really helpful— thanks!
Response from Olive:
as lawnparties gets closer ODUS will send out an email with the link to purchase guest tickets. I don't think it's too competitive if you already know you'll be bringing a guest and can do it the same day the link goes live.

Is it bad to ask a professor that i know personally to be my thesis advisor over email? or does it need to be in person?
Response from Olive:
I don't see a problem with it. I'm not sure if personally refers to seeing them in person on a regular basis but if that's the case that would also be fine.

Which frats have the worst hazing? Also how bad can the hazing get?
Response from Olive:
can't address the first question on here, but for the second question, you can read through the biannual reports the university releases on hazing incidents where they detail what events unfolded.

when do upcoming juniors declare their meal plan?
Response from Chewy:
When you sign your housing contract for dining hall meal plans. If you decline and you are not independent, then you sign the meal plan with your eating club or co-op.

Is it possible to un-sign a room contract? I have a much better draw time than my friend, and would like to choose a room at my time. But if there's still decent doubles available at her time slot could I cancel my contract and draw with her?
Response from Olive:
no, this would be way too much extra work for Housing if everyone were able to withdraw from their contracts as they please. the only way to room with your friend would be to drop down to her room draw time to form a group of 2 before your time occurs.

Hey guys, I am a sophomore who got hosed from Cap earlier this year and I currently have no eating club. I am unaffiliated, as I have spent too much of my time doing stuff that looks good on a resume instead of stuff that helps socially. I want to join a bicker club for the community in either the fall or spring of next year, but I don't know where to start. How can I get into some secret society or club or something that would help me but not take up a ton of my time?
Response from Olive:
at this point all you can really do is just try to find and get close to people in bicker clubs that do fall bicker that you're interested in to try to have connections by the fall. fall bicker is extremely selective and there's very few spots that are given out. also, for what it's worth, sign-in clubs have community too, so that's definitely not exclusive to bicker clubs.

about gpa for grad school: the ECE masters program at Princeton (open to only Princeton UGs btw) said they would "auto-admit" Pton students with GPA over 3.0... come to decisions time just last month, ECE students with a 3.4-3.6 GPA were REJECTED (as there is no Waitlist), and there was too much competition due to COS majors with 3.9+ applying to the ECE masters. Its unfortunate but better to be safe and keep that GPA up. I'm still bitter about banking on the ECE masters but being turned away
Response from Olive:
pretty wild they tried to pass the lie of an auto admissions process. unless it was a concretely listed policy somewhere, it seems a little too good to be true to just need a 3.0 to get into a pton master's program when there's so many other factors to take into account for any admissions.
Response from Chewy:
Also, this year is one of the worst years in applying for grad school, as the job market is garbage right now. So it may have been true about "auto-admit" in the past, but this year is an unusual year.

Why are there like 50+ dance groups on campus? Genuinely. Dance is literally the most antiquated, sluggish, and dying mediums ever.
Response from Olive:
not all dance groups do the same kind of dance or have the same social vibe within the group, so it helps members align with their interests better. they're also very competitive to join so having more of them increases the odds that a student will get into at least one.

Lowkey have been ghosting my thesis advisor due to mental health and now my dean wants to see me. What should I expect?
Response from Olive:
your advisor may believe you're falling behind on your thesis / be worried about you and went to your dean for them to check in. if your dean specifically mentioned wanting to meet about the thesis, then they'll likely want to know why you haven't been responding. if they didn't mention why they want to meet with you it could also be something totally different

I joined an eating club but will be gone second semester studying abroad. How does that work with regard to payment? Do I only pay for one semester or will I get refunded for the second??
Response from Chewy:
You pay for one semester. Indicate this on your eating club contract.

I have a 3.45 GPA, should I even bother applying to study abroad programs at Oxford/Cambridge/any other elite school or will I just waste my time/life. Grade deflation makes me sad af and question my self-worth
Response from Olive:
the official study abroad site says that "To have a strong application a student should have a 3.7 GPA," so it looks like they don't account too much for the grading systems used here unfortunately. if you have other very strong portions of your application it could help account for this, but those schools have been historically very competitive for study abroad.
