CHAPTER 3
My room was amazing. I had my own balcony with an amazing view, not to mention my own private hot tub out there. I felt much more relaxed now I had finally found where I was staying. I spent half an hour in the hot tub then went off too bed, I'd had the longest day ever.
*****************
I decided to go for a walk to get to know the place better since I didn't have a clue how long I'd be here for, maybe I'd look into apartments too. I hoped my second day would be better than the first. As I was exiting the lobby I shoved my hands into my pocket, that's when I found the piece of paper off the mysterious boy from the shake shop.
I couldn't help but smile. I had his number! His name was Luke and his handwriting was so neat and readable. I fumbled around for my phone in my bag, I didn't know whether or not to call him. I typed his number into my phone and my thumb lingered over the call button for the good part of 10 minutes. What did I have to loose.
"Hello?" His voice was deep but sweet.
"Hey.. Uh, is this Luke?" I was so nervous.
"Yeah, who is this?"
"It's Katie. You gave me your number yesterday, in the shake shop?" Shit. I didn't have a clue what to say to him, I hope he hasn't forgot.
"Oh yeah, hey. Sorry I gotta go, bye" And the line was dead. What. What the hell.
I didn't know what to do I just sort of stood there in shock for a few minutes until the slight vibration of my phone brought me back to reality. It was a text off Luke..
'Sorry I didn't mean to rush off the phone, I'll call you later okay? X'
'Okay x'
Why would someone do that? Ugh, I didn't even care, I didn't even know him and here I was getting wound up that he'd been so rude.
'You've got a pretty name Katie x'
I could feet myself blushing. He seems nice but very arrogant. I need a drink I thought to myself and made my way to the hotel bar.

CHAPTER 2
I stuffed the paper into my pocket and desperately dug for my phone. I was certain as soon as I examined what was given to me I'd be too distracted. I was exhausted and all I wanted was a hot bath and a good nights sleep.
After paying my bill, Mandy called me a cab to take me to my hotel, she said it was way to far to walk, especially since it was getting dark. I moved across the room to sit near the door so I could look out for my ride and called my mom.
"Hey honey" She was in a pleasant mood.
"Hey mom, how are you? How's dad?"
"Everyone's fine darling, you sound terrible. Are you okay? Have you found your hotel? You know I really wish you'd just come home, we miss you so much already" I knew my attempt at hiding my exhaustion was terrible.
"Mom, I'm fine. Stop worrying. You know I can't come home yet. I just need to do this, you don't under.." I was interrupted by the horn of my cab outside and a very pissed off looking old man in the drivers seat. "I gotta go my cabs here. I'll call you soon, love you"
"Okay, bye."
I picked up my bags, thanked Mandy and was on my way. The cab smelt like cigarettes with a hint of vomit. The moody driver didn't look like he smelt much better either. He had very greasy gray hair, what he had left of it anyway. I spent my whole ride judging the poor old guy and I felt terrible by the time we pulled up to The Marriott, I tipped him $5 as a sort of secret apology to make up for it.

CHAPTER 1
I didn't have a clue where I was. I'd booked a last minute get away to Melbourne, Australia and I was well and truly lost. I looked up to see the same milkshake bar for the 5th time. I couldn't believe it. It was so warm and being here, up to now, had just made me a lot more stressed than what I was in The UK.
I walked into the shake shop, I desperately needed to rest my feet and an ice cold drink to accompany me sounded delicious! That's when it hit me, the cooling breeze of the air-conditioning, it was like a blanket of ice carefully dancing on my skin. Gently soothing the painful aches that I'd picked up on my travels. I'd never appreciated something so much before, I was in my own little world, perfectly content.
"Good-day sheila, can I help you?" A very chirpy Australian lady disrupted me from my heavenly trance.
"Ermm, hi, I'm Katie. I'm looking for the Marriott hotel but first I'd love an ice cold drink please" I stuttered, still half away with the fairies.
"Fair enough, you from oversea's? I'll show to you a bonzer table!" She'd become even chirpier than the first time she'd spoke and I swear I didn't think that was ever possible.
I looked down at her name tag, it said "Mandy" in a very plain boring font. You could tell by the edges she's had it for a long time. I followed her through the drinks bar though, being careful not to knock other customers, that's when I saw him.
He was sat alone in a large red booth, playing on his iPhone. He briefly looked up at me and my heart may of possibly melted. His deep brown eyes glistening in the barely natural light. He was... Mesmerizing.
I wanted nothing more to be seated at his table but obviously, just my luck I was sat on the opposite side of the restaurant, out of sight. I'd decided to just enjoy my drink then carry on searching for my temporary home. I examined the drinks menu various time before deciding on the "crazy peanut vanilla twist" one of the shake shops specials. I started to drift into my own little world again, thinking about the mysterious lonesome boy until I looked up and there he was. Stood right in front of my eyes, smiling cheekily at me, he simply slipped me a small piece of paper before walking out of the door. Not once turning back to take a second glance.
