beau:

Beau was feeling incredibly isolated and alone in Spain and knew that Rowan would be there for him if he asked. He felt the blonde close the gap between the two of them and pressed his lips against hers, sitting himself up as their lips met in the middle. He pushed his body up so their bodies were touching one another’s and made a small sound against her lips as her hips pressed down into his own. His large hand cupped the back of her head as he kissed her back, moving his mouth in time and in sync with her own.

her arms wrapped around his shoulders, holding herself flush against beau’s chest. a little, knowing smile made its way to her lips as she kissed him back, the knowledge that she still knew a few ways to drive him a little crazy. their physical relationship had never been a problem for the two of them; it was what made their situation work. it was the emotional side of it that had been the issue, but then again, it seemed to be the same for most of his relationships. she rolled her hips again, an urging to get this moving, but also a reminder that she was unsure how much time they had before her roommate got back from wherever he was. 

anthony:

anthony and beau didn’t get along with one another both of them were toxic and had argued with one another during their time in university together . anthony thought beau was an asshole and he knew the feelings were visa versa.  “ i want to push you out your comfort zone, ” anthony answered as a small smirk spread across his lips. “ i’ll stick with you the whole time, i promise. I’m not going to leave you on your own , there wouldn’t be a point inviting you otherwise,” .

there was a slight constriction in her chest, a nervous feeling that settled there, and she had to force it down. she was perfectly fine, and she was sure that anthony wouldn’t let anything terrible happen to her. it wasn’t that she didn’t party from time to time, she did. it was just a little tick she had when things weren’t planned ahead of time. “okay,” she said, forcing a smile, hoping it looked natural. “let’s... get me out of my comfort zone.” she reached out, offering him her hand with an expectant expression. “lead the way.” 

anthony:

“People usually let me do what I want because I tell people how it is from the get go. I’m not looking for love. I’m looking for fun. If someone wants a boyfriend, they’re looking in the wrong place in getting to know me because I don’t want that. At least not at the moment.” Anthony admitted, fixing the cap that was on his head so it stopped the light from getting into his eyes.  “I want to take you out clubbing, or get you high,” he confessed. “Are you down?” He asked. “I promise it’ll be somewhere safe. I’ll look after you, roomie.”

for a moment, anthony reminded rowan of beau, but somehow he was completely different than her ex-whatever he was. they seemed to think in the same way, but she didn’t believe anthony wanted to hurt anyone. at least he was upfront about what intentions he had. she nodded her head in understanding of his explanation, though she couldn’t say she agreed on his sentiments. she smirked a little. “you want to corrupt me or something?” she asked teasingly. she was pretty tame, but she wasn’t a complete innocent. “we can go to a club. i have been known to let loose a time or two,” she teased. “but you have to promise you’re with me the whole time. no running off and leaving me by myself. we go back to the room together.” 

beau:

Beau had a wicked way of making people feel like the wanted him and could easily rip it away from them moments later. Rowan had been aware what Beau was like because he had done her wrong in the past, but he tried not to dwell on all the bad between the two of them, knowing their had been good between the two of them as well. He watched as she repositioned herself and climbed on top of him instead. His hands ran over the outside of her thighs as she sat on top of him. “What fall is there to take?” He asked. “My ex boyfriend is going to hate me anyway for letting someone else do something to me,” he commented. “I get blamed for everything else. I’m used to it.”

rowan knew this was absolutely a bad idea. that wasn’t going to stop her from making it. she was just as lonely as beau was, but she didn’t feel as though it was the same brand of loneliness. she would find a solution in him for the time being and that would have to do. “stop talking now,” she said, leaning closer to his face. she bridged the gap between them, laying her mouth over his. moving her hands from beside his head, she cupped his face, pulling him up to her so that their bodies were now flush with one another’s. her hips pressed down into his eagerly, and she opened her mouth, her tongue flicking out to tease his lips.

anthony:

anthony wasn’t really good at interacting people who weren’t his age or didn’t understand him all that well. the guitarist simply opened his mouth and let words roll off his tongue , knowing sometimes it could probably land him in trouble. he lent into the blonde watching as she scrolled through the images that the old couple had taken and pointed at the one that rowan happened to like . “ that ones really cute , looks like your into me or something, ” he teased. “ we look good and it wasn’t even planned,”.

rowan rolled her eyes in amusement, shaking her head. “i was scolding you,” she pointed out, looking back at him expectantly. “do women who are into you find habit in chastising you regularly?” she asked. she flipped through a few more of the photos until she got to the end, happy with the result. “i think we got some good content,” she tells him, a pleased smile back on her face. she turned, looking up at anthony now, and gesturing to him with her hand not holding her phone. “your turn. what do you want to do? only fair since we did what i wanted.” 

beau:

“I think you would like me distracting you, and I also know you’d find it hard to turn me down in a time of need, ” beau commented, hoping to use all the right words to get rowan under his spell. He wasn’t good at getting over someone who didn’t want anything to do with him (or so he thought ) so the only way to get over someone, was to get under someone else.  “ so confirm for me? is that a yes, you’ll be my distraction?” he asked teasingly.

rowan was well aware as to what he was trying to do. she wasn’t as easily swayed as she used to be, but it seemed that she also didn’t learn her lesson the last time that she and beau got together. rolling her eyes, she looked away for a long moment before moving his head from her lap. she repositioned herself, straddling his waist. “i’m not taking the fall for this,” she told him, looking at him expectantly as her hands pressed against his abdomen and moved, slowly, up to his chest, until they fell over his shoulders and her hands were pressed into the mattress next to his head. strands of hair that hadn’t made it into her braids fell forward. “i’m blaming you.” 

lawson:

Lawson sat down and sighed as he looked down. “I thought about just moving back home. He doesn’t want me the way I feel I need him.” He replied as he raked a hand through his hair. “I love him and I know it might be a bit weird hearing with you having a bit of a past with him, but part of me thought I mattered more to him than I did.” He sighed after he spoke the words softly. “I know it’s stupid, but I don’t know if I can continue mopping about because of some guy.” He said as he rubbed his temples. 

rowan sighed. “i’ve been hurt by beau before too, you know, and while it’s a terrible feeling, i don’t think you should upend your entire academic career because he can’t be the person that you want him to be,” she said, shaking her head. “and maybe he can be, but,” she stopped, shrugging her shoulders. rowan saw a little more in beau than others did, but maybe it was the bleeding heart that she held inside her chest. she pushed her hair behind her ears, dropping her hands into her lap and resting them one over the other. “you do matter to him, lawson. i don’t believe that the issue lies in whether or not he cares for you.” 

beau:

Beau had been in a relationship with Lawson for a couple of months then the two of them had fizzled out, and then the two of them were seeing each other on and off again. Beau did have a past romantic relationship with Rowan. She did mean something to him as well. All his relationships were complicated.  “I want to not think about hurting. I want to distract myself from the thought of hurting anyone else. I want to not feel lonely right now,” he confessed. “Feeling lonely cuts deep…”

“and you think that finding distractions in me will make you less lonely?” she asked, tilting her head, causing some of her hair to fall over her shoulder and into her face. she took her hand from his head and moved it behind her ear. she sighed, looking up from beau and biting her lip, chewing on it for a long moment. “i don’t know how long it’ll be before anthony gets back,” she told him, looking to the door and back down to him. “so i don’t know how much time we have by ourselves.” 

anthony:

There wasn’t much that Anthony had back home so being in university and studying was a positive for him at the moment, despite how much he hated the education system and what he was studying.  The guitarist snapped a couple of different shots as the blonde posed in front of the fountain and grinned at the poses she was pulling at him, finding it really cute at the variety of poses she had in mind in a couple of seconds. Anthony really didn’t want a picture with a fountain, but Rowan asking made him exhale loudly and follow her lead. He put his arm around her waist and rested his head against her shoulder, throwing up a peace sign at the older couple who were pointing the camera at them in landscape. “Are we in the shot..?” He asked, not knowing if that was coming across as rude, but Anthony never knew when to shut his mouth.

she smiled when he came over to her, looking up at him with an eager expression on her face, one that let him know she was thankful he was allowing her even this small thing. rowan laughed as she leaned in to him, letting him take the lead. “hush,” she scolded him, looking at him with an amused smile on her face, which she was sure the old couple got in the photos. “they’re being nice. i’m sure they came out fine,” she told him. looking back at the two people, she pulled herself away from anthony and walked up to the couple, thanking them in spanish and taking her phone back. she turned back to anthony, looking through the photos and showing him the one of her looking up at him. “i like this one!” she said excitedly, grinning up at him now.

anthony:

“It’s safer than my placement than at home,” the guitarist admitted, knowing the talk would take a little bit of a turn due to him being honest , but it wasn’t something he was going to lie about . “ I grew up in a foster home , was in and out of foster homes until I turned eighteen , and haven’t found my feet completely , so why I try and build some money and platform for myself , having a room over my head and trying to educate myself here and then helps me, ” he confessed.  he watched as the blonde haired femme started taking pictures of the fountain and took the phone from her hands. “ do you want one with you in front of it? ” he offered , messing with some settings to get the light and angles looking right. 

rowan watched him gently as he spoke, finding it touching that he was being so open about where he came from. she didn’t know many people that would be so candid, and she appreciated his honesty. it was refreshing when it seemed everyone around them did the opposite. “that’s smart,” she said, nodding her head, because she wasn’t going to call him noble or brave for doing it when it was more than that. she couldn’t put into words what she really wanted to say. her mouth opened in mock surprise as he took her phone, and she blushed slightly, nodding her head. “thanks,” she told him, moving to place herself in front of the fountain. she did a number of different poses so he could get some shots, and stopped when she saw an elderly couple walking by. “excuse me,” she said in spanish, and they stopped. “could you take our photo please?” she looked over at anthony and gestured to them. “we’re going to get a picture together,” she told him after they agreed. she gestured for him to come to her. “come on.” 

beau:

“Lawson’s good to me. He loves hard, it’s intense.” Beau loved being loved, but didn’t know if he could reciprocate it in the exact same way back. “He means more to mean than a friends with benefits would. I do love him,” he confessed, knowing it was weird for him to admit this to Rowan, who he had something with in the past, but she seemed to be listening to him. “Lawson’s protective of me, he always has been…I find it really sweet,” he confessed.

she could have said that she had seen all of what he was saying already, had witnessed it when lawson had cornered her on the campus lawn, or how upset he seemed about the whole thing, but she didn’t. she did wince slightly at his confession about loving him as more than a friend with benefits, only because that was what she had been, and he had chosen lawson over her. it didn’t matter now, it was done, but being anyone’s second choice had to hurt. “and yet you want a distraction?” she asked. “from someone who is clearly not lawson?” 

anthony:

“ I have better things to do with my time , that’s all , ” Anthony confessed, biting down on his bottom lip. “ Studying has never been a high priority of mine …I’ve always seeked doing something worth my time.” Anthony wasn’t offended at Rowan’s comment , to someone on the outside perspective of his lazy , he probably did seem lazy and unproductive.  “ I’m highly talked about, trust me. Your totally missing out, ” he teased, winking at the blonde.

“why are you attending north chancellor if you don’t like school?” she asked, raising an eyebrow in question as she rounded a corner and they finally came upon the fountain that she had insisted about visiting. it was just sunset, so the lighting was still good enough for pictures, and she grinned when it came into view. “are you trying to make me sad to be missing out?” her voice was tinged with amusement. “because lack of kissing is quite easy to remedy, or so i’ve come to find.” she pulled her phone out and pulled up the camera app, turning away from anthony to take some shots of the fountain.

beau:

“ my present behaviour is all situation-ship orientated though .. i’ve ever promised to be faithful and committed as that’s not me… i’ve never felt like I deserved long lasting love because I don’t know if I could offer someone the same thing back , I always feel like i’m letting someone down, ” he confessed with was the truth. Beau had been with Rowan himself. She knew exactly what he was like. “I thought you liked being my distraction, ” he teased. “You didn’t mind it when we were on and off with another..”

“but are you insisting that your relationship be similar to that of an actual relationship while you pretend that it’s still, i don’t know, a friends with benefits situation? because that’s not fair for the other person involved,” she said, and she wasn’t trying to be mean, or rude, but she also knew that beau needed to talk this through with someone that wasn’t going to just outright yell or talk at him. he needed someone who would listen. “i wouldn’t mind it now,” she confessed, shrugging her shoulders. “but i don’t want to be brought into all this drama you’ve collected. i certainly don’t need lawson to come yelling at me in the middle of campus again.” 

anthony:

“I don’t have the motivation…if I find something boring, I find it really hard to make a start on it.” Anthony looked at Rowan as she suggested him writing the assignment down and her making edits to make it sound more professional and fluent. He appreciated someone looking out for him. It was rare that people did want to try and help him with his assignment and written work. “haven’t you heard how good I am at them?” he asked playfully. “talk of the university apparently,” he teased.

“you know what i hear?” she asked him with a teasing smile. “excuses.” the word was said in a sing-songy voice, one that told him that she was just joking. rowan didn’t believe that she would ever be able to truly offend anthony but their friendship was new and she didn’t want to overstep. “i try not to listen to gossip,” she confessed, shaking her head. “it only ever benefits the person spreading it. although, if you really are as great of a kisser as these rumors you are talking about say, then maybe they do benefit others.” she shook her head in amusement. “perhaps you’ll get the chance to prove them right at some point.” 

beau:

“I was brought up with parents who didn’t show love towards each other or me. I’ve never really known what love is because it’s never been in my life…” Beau confessed honestly to Rowan. “My parents always argued and were toxic. I really think that’s where I get it from…” he confessed. “I was planning on giving him some space and some room to breath…but he can’t forget about me that easily, and I can’t forget about him either,”. Beau ran his fingers over Rowan’s face, tilting her chin towards him. “ wanna distract me?” he asked playfully, toying with her feelings.

“but here’s the thing, you do have love in your life. your past isn’t an excuse for your present behavior,” she advised, shaking her head. “i know that you can be a better person, beau. i think you’re just scared to do just that.” she turned her head slightly, nipping lightly at the tips of his fingers with a knowing smile on her face. “i don’t know about that. i don’t want to be just another part of all the drama currently circulating. i prefer to watch from the background,” she explained. “and your version of distraction will get me into trouble.” 

anthony:

“I really need your mentality because I haven’t even started any of my assignments…I really can’t be arsed to do any of them, ”. The guitarist liked music and song writing , but wasn’t good at handwritten assignments. He didn’t like writing down things because it never came out as fluently as he liked. “ can’t you write down what I say? ” he asked. “like in a better way, get my grades up?” he asked. “I’ll pay you in attention and kisses, ” he teased playfully.

“the faster you get all of it done, the faster that you can enjoy your time here without them hanging over your head,” she pointed out, laughing softly. that was why she had finished all of her assignments. now she didn’t have to worry about them and could enjoy her time in spain.  “why don’t you write it how you would have originally, and i’ll edit it to make it sound better?” she offered, looking at him with a slight smirk. “kisses? what makes you think i want those from you?” she teased. though she had to admit, she wouldn’t necessarily mind them.
