he’s not unaccustomed to drunk people, but the environment of the bar is waning him, &, had the alcohol not been cheap but decent, he would have left an hour ago. regardless, his desire to go back to his apartment seems to have won out over his desire to drink. might as well spend his time studying anyways. he knows it’s definitely a bad idea to slack off.
leorio turns at the guy addressing him, raising an eyebrow at the man leaning on a car. being in mangolia has him on edge more so than usual, but he bites his tongue on asking who the fuck this guy even is, & instead: “ not really in the mood to join in the chaos of drunk people yelling about guys throwing a ball. ”
Tumblr media
“So it was from a sport. That’s one mystery solved.” Although not one he was too interested in--not when he had far more interesting things to figure out. Namely how he even got here. “Can’t say I blame you--not too interested in sports myself.” Or even drinking for that matter--which he found far more frustrating than he probably should.
Tumblr media
But until he got a feel for this city and established himself-probably best to keep the drinking to a minimum. Shame.
“You’re a talkative one.” Bobo notes, no lack of sarcasm in his tone. Never mind the fact that their conversation just started. “Any idea how late this place stays open?”

Her head tilted as if she was considering if it was indeed a personal problem, her hand dropping to her side as shifted on her feet. Squinting slightly at his question, as if she could truly make a comment about his face. What would she even say? Are you Martin’s evil twin? Wetting her lips she waited for his answer, almost ready to walk away from the stranger entirely.
Tumblr media
Bobo? That couldn’t have been a real name, it meant fool in Spanish for fucks sake. Bringing back the joint she inhaled letting it fill her lungs, held it for a moment before looking away to blow out the smoke. “Yeah, but I see that I was wrong. S’nice to meet you though, Bobo.”
Well, that was interesting. It wasn’t often that Bobo was mistaken for someone else.
Actually--he couldn’t remember the last time that happened.
Tumblr media
Giving an amused chuckle, he inhaled deeply, looking at her with renewed interest before exhaling slowly. “I wouldn’t go saying that just yet. You don’t know what I’m like. I could be a serial killer for all you know.” Bobo kept a focused eye on her, eager to see her reaction. “But you have me at a disadvantage. I don’t know your name.”

There was a quiet sharp intake at his words, he knew the desperation in her tone. “I’m not begging, I’m telling you, Robert.” Despite her tone being strong, she was trying to get control over the conversation again. Bobo might know things about Waverly that even she doesn’t, but how could she trust him anymore. Grabbing her purse, Waverly fished out some money to pay her tab. A mix of him and the alcohol was starting to turn her stomach.
Tumblr media
Listening to him speak, Waverly was starting to really think about his lack of action he was taking to go after Wynonna. He seemed calmed enough to leave her be, for now. “I’m aware of her ability to fend for herself, I just rather save her the bullshit.. Besides, why would I listen to you? Listening to you has done me nothing good, ever.”
And there’s the look of annoyance she was probably aiming for using that name. He didn’t even try to hide it or turn away, there was little point. “And you think I’ll listen? Cute.” Bobo fired back, a little more bite to his words than usual. Especially given who he was talking to. Exhaling slowly, he simply turned his attention to the drink in his hand, knocking the rest of it back. The only reason he wasn’t going after the heir is because he had no plans to before this conversation.
Tumblr media
Fingers drummed against the counter top as he watched her pay, making no move to pay his own tab. No--he planned on staying a while longer. Tempting fate, as it were. After all, if Wynonna was truly here? She’d find this bar soon enough. And he wasn’t entirely sure Waverly wouldn’t tell her big sister about him--intentionally or not.
He barely glanced at her after she’d said her piece, running his tongue along the front of his teeth. He’d tried to protect her, keep her safe--something Ward had failed to do....and yet it never seemed to work out. “Like I said, not that you’ll listen to me. You’re going to do what you want, it is the-uh---Earp way, isn’t it? And it’s worked out so well for Ward and Wynonna, hmm?”

“Can’t say I agree,” Mercury mused. In his experience, the vast majority of people here were dull and boring. Then again, Mercury’s sense of interest was always twisted. He found everything mundane and civil a waste of his time.
“Catching up with friends,” he offered simply. The best lies were forged on truth after all, though the clients he dealt with were far from ‘friends’. Convenient acquaintances at best. “Not nearly as interesting as, say, hanging outside a bar and sparking up a conversation with people after they’ve exited alone and possibly drunk.”
Tumblr media
“Well, I’m new. Guess I just need to give it time.” Despite the sarcastic tone, his expression fell to one of poorly-concealed annoyance. New place, same old bullshit it seemed. Great.
Guess he’d have to make his own fun.
“That’s just vague enough to be interesting.” He replies, brows raising as he looks the other over. His immediate impression is that the other man is not a threat--but appearances could be deceiving. But what the other said next prompted a chuckle from the revenant. “Well, look who thinks they’re perceptive.”
Tumblr media
“What can I say? I’ve been told I’m a-uh---people person. Chatty. Came outside for a smoke.” A pause. “Is that a problem?”

It had been years since she had been to a bar, her disease keeping her back from any hope of a social life. All the unwanted touching painted a target on her back to have another flare up, even the sound could be too much. But no she needed this, she needed to drink a bit and dance. Getting away from her current situation, not thinking about what happened to the Rowdy 3 or how her brother was doing. Even the thought of where Vogel ran off to was far away now, it was her night off of worrying. Amanda danced till her hair stuck to her neck, till she had to step out to smoke.
Stepping out of the bar, Amanda pulled her jacket close to her as she pulled a joint out of her pocket. Fingers about to light, Amanda stopped at the voice. She would have brushed off a stranger trying to chat it up outside of a bar, but there was a hint of familiarity in his voice. Slowly turning around, she glanced at him. Oh shit I’m already high, she thought to herself as she squinted at the other. He looked damn identical to Martin, but it was all wrong. “I’m bored of all the fun.” She continued to stare at him as she lit her joint, with a deep inhale she turned to go but stopped short. “Who are you?” The question was itching to get out as she turned slightly towards him, blowing out a cloud of smoke.
Tumblr media
"Sounds like a personal problem.” He remarked in an off-hand tone, as if he didn’t really care if she heard him or not. His head canted to the side, a brow raising as she stared at him. “Something on my face?” Flashing a smirk her way, Bobo barely turned his head away from the smoke, only to light a cigarette of his own. Silence hung between them, the revenant exhaling smoke as he seemed unwilling to answer her simple question.
Tumblr media
“Bobo Del Rey.” The answer was curt as he gave his cigarette a flick, watching the ash fall to the gravel before turning his attention back to the girl, watching her expression with a calculating curiosity. “Were you expecting someone else?”

“Don’t talk about her.” the brunette more or less snapped, who says the younger sister can’t be overprotective. Despite the alcohol sitting wrong in her stomach, Waverly couldn’t help but want something a bit stronger if she was to deal with Bobo. Defiantly an Earp. She stared at him, face slightly confused at the mention of a well. “Doc.” She breathed out, more to herself than him. She knew he didn’t kill Bobo, couldn’t have. Only a month later did it click, good job Doc. “Good.” Pausing she waved her hand at him, “Just leave Wynonna alone, and I’ll forget I even saw you.” It would be hard to forget, but why drag Wynonna into his bullshit. “Can’t exactly promise to stop her if you do something stupid, -just.. just leave her alone.” She wasn’t going to beg, but it sure as hell was starting to sound like it.
Tumblr media
Anybody else might’ve been caught off guard by the outburst--but not Bobo, he simply reclined back in his seat, raising his hands almost defensively. “You’ve gotten more bite since the last time I saw you. Good.” If either of her comments bothered him, he was hiding it well, simply watching her with minor amusement. “Begging isn’t like you-you’re better than that.” It was muttered quickly, expression twisting into a sneer. He never liked beggars, not really. And he seldom listened to them to begin with. And yet....
Tumblr media
“I wasn’t planning on going after your sister--or you for that matter. So you can relax.” Hell, he didn’t even plan to arrive here and didn’t even know they were here until recently. But that would be his luck, he supposed. “Your sister can handle herself you know, you should worry about yourself. Not that you’ll listen to my advice.”

Wynonna almost jumped at the familiar voice - purely from shock, really, but there was no way she would let him see her caught off-guard. Being drunk in Bobo’s presence was bad enough, she realized, angrily slamming her glass down on the table. She couldn’t even get wasted in peace, it seemed.
“You.” Ignoring everything he just said, she turned a fiery glare on him, fuming. “I should shoot you right here and now,” she hissed, low enough that hopefully no one would overhear. Though, she didn’t have Peacemaker with her. She preferred not to get wasted with a gun on her person and she figured since this wasn’t Purgatory, she wouldn’t need it. How wrong she was. But Bobo didn’t have to know that.
“What are you even doing here?” she continued, a tinge of confusion coloring her voice. “Did the whole damn town follow me here?” Of course, Waverly was here, not willing to leave her sister to her own devices, and Nicole followed close behind. Them, she understood. Bobo, however… “I’m flattered,” she snorted, voice flat.
Tumblr media
Bobo tried to keep himself from looking too satisfied at her reaction--and was likely failing miserably. “Don’t be such a one trick pony, Wynonna.” He flashed her a quick smile, shifting in his seat to face her fully. “We both know you won’t, so do me a favor and keep the blustering down to a minimum.”
“I’m sitting. Drinking something that passes for bourbon. Believe it or not, my life doesn’t revolve around you or your delightful sister.” He pointed out, spinning the glass against the counter top, ice clinking. “Your family and the officer hardly count as the whole town but-well-you always had a flair for dramatics.”
He shoots her a sideways glance before finishing his drink. “Don’t be. I was just afraid you were starting to turn into Ward. What would happen then?” It wasn’t like he had a wide range of amusements in town-with his own pack of revenants still presumably in Purgatory and he himself trapped here. He had to take his amusements where he could. “I’m almost surprised Doc isn’t following after you like a puppy, have you seen him? We have a lot of catching up to do.”

mctalcladboot:
Mercury hated bars. Hated drunks. Hated that distinct scent of beer mixed with people’s breaths that triggered awful memories. Nightclubs he could handle, the alcohol there usually had a fruity scent to it, but bars were the worst. It was unfortunate that every shady customer he dealt with wanted to meet in one. Despite the laid back smile and attitude, he always was on edge surrounded by drunks.
Finishing up his dealing and heading out, the fresh air was a welcomed change. He ignored the inside jeering and cheering, hands digging into his pockets before he moved to head off. Hearing the guy though, he stopped. Taking a moment, it didn’t take Mercury long to confirm that this guy wasn’t drunk and, therefore, not an immediate threat.
Breathing a faux-laugh, he shot the stranger a lop-sided grin. “Too much excitement for me, I guess. I just boring like that.”
Tumblr media
“Huh.” Bobo gave a small nod at that, glancing at the bar where the cheers and celebration had already started to dwindle down to it’s usual dull roar. “I may be new here but I think I know enough to know that nobody here is boring.”
Or at least he hoped not. The people of Purgatory had grown so boring and he was hoping the new scenery brought some excitement. So far it just seemed to bring a bunch of familiar--and unfriendly--faces. “Guess I’m just wondering someone who’s boring would do coming to a bar in the first place, but that’s just me.”

Eyes darted to the man beside her, truthfully she wasn’t as surprised as she should have been. "Funny, where’s yours?” She retorted, finishing the rest of her drink, a little too fast. The burn came unwelcome as she been sipping it slowly before, and failed to hide the cough that came afterwards. Turning her attention back to him, Waverly watched as he helped himself to the alcohol. Suddenly wishing Peacemaker was here, with a trigger happy sister along with it. Wave tried to hide her discomfort. “Didn’t think I would be seeing you again, especially out of Purgatory.”
Tumblr media
“Heh-cute.” But he showed no signs of amusement until he heard her cough, a brow arching. “Careful, down all your drinks like that and you’ll really turn into Wynonna.” His words came across less cautionary and more of a jab at the eldest Earp. “As much as I’d love to take credit for this, I can’t exactly say it was planned. After all, last thing I remember was being in the bottom of a well.” Bobo drew out the word, taking a drink from his glass before setting it back down with a little more force than intended. “So-I’m sure I’ll get over the fact that you don’t miss me.” Sarcasm fell off every word, but Bobo had yet to really look at Waverly, seemingly more interested in the glass in his hands. “We may not be in Purgatory, but I’m not about to let the heir-or you-distract me from my freedom here.”
