Artist inspiration
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I follow this Instagram artist called “Mcflyy” what I really enjoy about the art piece is that its modern and all the pieces relate to him as a character. The work he has produced has gone somewhat viral as he has recently done a cover logo for “Ty Dolla Sign” majority of his audience are usually the youth who enjoy fashion or enjoy digital work artwork.
He inspires a lot to express my work a lot more by using imagery of myself/peers this can be seen in project 4. What I really enjoy is the fact he gets the full detail of himself whether its the clothing or his hair. What I enjoy the most is how smooth all his work is and I do want to create something like this in the future
I have tried to make a final piece like this in project 4 of my partner I did not end up being successful but I’ve learnt some new techniques that should me later down the line through trial and error.

Mid-Century Style
Scotty Reifsnyder
Tumblr media
I believe this is a mid-century style of work as it has a limitation on how much colour has been used to the image, he tries to keep it to five colours so the image can be shown easily. Also, the background still has that comic style vibe to it still looks more childish and easier to tell what the images are supposed to be.
Satoshi Hashimoto
Tumblr media
He minimalized how much colour is used to the image so it can it be understood quicker and how to maximise the full potential of the colours. He uses thin and thick lines to his drawing as they make his objects/figures look more realistic.
Emma Crockatt
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She maximises the full potential of the two colours black and white and she usually draws things that you see in everyday life so it makes the work seem more personal and it has that child but rough style to it which I enjoy.

Subculture
ANIME  is a Japanese comic but its called “Manga” that is well known everywhere around the world, they usually make their manga’s into series just so people don’t have to read it and just focus on the storytelling/ animations that are produced.
Gaming is now known as a sport there are multiple platforms this can be played on whether it be on a console or a PC. These games end up being very competitive and very addictive to play as you are forced to grind for something that you want to achieve or there may be a competition where you can earn some money.  A lot of people usually do this as a profession either they upload onto Youtube so others can watch or just for themselves.
Hypebeast is a term that is used for someone who wants the latest designer wear or someone has a strong interest in collecting the outfits as they may be rare due to the limited stock.  Usually, they like to buy the latest thing that’s out there and resale it as it will have more value due to the demand or how rare the piece of item is in itself.

Propaganda
Tumblr media
Modern music has changed a lot as in the UK a lot of youth or young adults listen to either drill or rap music. The drill music is usually known for the violence it spreads from one gang to another, the media strongly believe the drill music is the main influence for such crimes as stabbings, robberies and gang affiliation. However, the people who created the music are just telling a story of the difficulties they’ve faced whether it be from young or at this current time. I strongly believe a lot of youth click with these type of songs either for the lyrical geniuses the artist or the story that they are telling us they had a tough upbringing and they are looking to change their lives for the good of society and themselves.
Tumblr media
The Trump sign was used in a campaign for the presidency to collect more votes from the “ Hardcore Real” Americans. This image was spread around in every digital platform, his audience could’ve ranged from young adults to the elderly who believe in his message that he has conveyed.
Tumblr media
The cigarettes packets have to put a sign where people understand the damages that can be done by smoking. A lot of people do end up smoking due to stress or for the “Culture” as they believe its cool. The prices of cigarettes have increased throughout time but people will still buy it cause of how addictive the substance is.
I believe social media has a positive and negative effect on society. The positives being anyone is allowed to post what they believe is right or post any photograph that may relate to them. There have been many influencers on such platforms such as Instagram and Youtube,  they have changed many lives of people whether just by watching them or how they motivated them to make a change in their daily lives. The main problem of all this anyone can start an argument over your opinion or it can be deemed too rude which may result in you receiving a lot of backlashes.
For me, social media doesn’t influence my behaviour or my decisions I plan to take. The main reason I use any form of social media is too either keep in contact with my friends or understand what's going on in society. Social media has helped a lot in expressing my views and how I can present myself in a better light to others so I can fix my own bad habits and usually it's my friends telling me how to improve as a person

Essay
I've been to the Tate Modern to see the following exhibitions "Media Networks, In The Studio; Artist And Society." I've chosen the artist Piet Mondrian as he caught my attention the most out of every artist there was.
Piet Mondrian is one of the greatest artists in the late 20th century, he was born on March 7th, 1872, Amersfoort, Netherlands. The piece I’m going to be reviewing is “Composition B (No.II) with Red”.  The piece was created on January 1st, 1935.  He used oil paint. Piet Mondrian was a painter. He was influenced, Vincent Van Gogh.
Piet Mondrian is usually well known for the natural landscapes he paints, as an artist, he has chosen to limit himself with a style that's unique by using geometric shapes such as squares or rectangles. And he uses a limited colour pallet ( Pure red, yellow and blue) with a white canvas as his base layer, the lines meet each other to create and frame whatever he decides.  As you can see the artist has followed the formal element including using the colour red. The red draws the audiences and myself to the painting so it can grab our attention. I believe he chose red as its a primary colour as it will always be modern in society as it has a strong connotation behind.
What I enjoy about this piece is how the lines have been used to make it look futuristic and modern, I haven't seen any artwork in that sort of style especially around the 20th century.  The red on the top left-hand corner made me think why "Isn't the red around the centre of the piece?" I believe Mondrian done it deliberately to make the audience question his thought processing; this could've been his idea of what modern may be in the future. This forces the audience to focus on the whole piece rather than having an obvious centrepiece also allowing them to take in the piece as a whole.  The canvas has this rough texture if you look into it closer, I couldn't tell if it was deliberate or if the piece is old?  What I really enjoy about the piece is how it holds the sentimental value by having his signature at the bottom.  One thing struck me was how the artist is making me ask myself "Is the canvas within a canvas?" I don't know if it was deliberate or if the museum had done it to protect the piece. The main thing that struck me is how suppressed the line is in the piece, he uses the canvas to maximise the effect of his art piece.
To conclude I believe the piece was successful as he makes the audience question the piece and let them have their own different interpretations. I think he made everyone understand how modern may change throughout time; we see a lot of artwork that is really similar now days especially in the fine art industry.

Industrialsation
Advantage:
The industry helps people get employed and its livelihood for many families.
It allows improvements to products and makes the general standard of lining easier as a majority of things can be recycled.
It allows the county to be independent so they can start producing goods and it doesn’t have to rely on other countries meaning they save money by reducing imports. They can export their goods to other counties to make more income.
Allows the government to TAX whatever import coming in so they can invest for the well being of the people.
Reduced humans error
Faster rate of production
Disadvantage:
Increase in pollution which creates poisonous gases over the years which is the major cause of global warming.
It leads to a health problem, especially in rural and urban areas. This leads to a lack of housing, congestion, and lack of green space.
It's expensive to set up
Difficult to stop if a problem starts
If the production closes or breaks it halts the whole processing, meaning its more money to fix the problem.
There have been instances for child labor
Increase in crime rate as the poor can’t provide for their families or themselves.
The working class ends up becoming poorer as the price of product inflates.

Digital handmade - Book Lucy Johnson - publisher Monika HorcicovĂ  - Artisit HorcicovĂ  uses the human Skelton to craft a infinite structure that's repeated multiple times. What I enjoy about her work is that she uses a fusion of science and art into her work. What I most likely enjoy about her work is that it's like a jigsaw where all the pieces have to be put on delicately so the structure doesn't break.
