reminder to worldbuilders: don't get caught up in things that aren't important to the story you're writing, like plot and characters! instead, try to focus on what readers actually care about: detailed plate tectonics
concept: night vale flowers have like. no control. carlos saw one growing in a crack by of the road and decided to pluck it for cecil, who is without a doubt quite flattered, but only examines the flower at arm length for 30 seconds and then says “time to bury it and beg the old gods for forgiveness” and carlos is like bitch tf did u just say abt my flower? and grumpily takes it from cecil and puts in some water in a flower pot that had been empty since they bought it from someone’s yard sale and cecils like “i see someone’s in a dangerous mood tonight” and carlos is torn between feeling aroused and confused
and then carlos wakes up in the morning and the flower has broken through the floor and rooted into the ground, spread across half the living room wall and made a hole in the ceiling to poke its monstrous head out of, and cecil’s just standing underneath it eating cereal while we whispers something to a leaf the size of his head
