Tetractys.
The Tetractys (also known as the Decad) is an equilateral Triangle formed from the sequence of the first ten numbers aligned in four rows. It is both a Mathematical idea and a Metaphysical Symbol that embraces within itself - in Seedlike form - the Principles of the Natural World, the Harmony of the Cosmos, the Ascent to the Divine, and the Mysteries of the Divine Realm. So revered was this Ancient Symbol that it inspired Ancient Philosophers to swear by the name of the one who brought this gift to Humanity - Pythagoras.

Some questions to consider. What does the quest of Parsifal, the trials of Hercules and the journey of Odysseus have in common? What is the ultimate goal of these quests? What do the Golden Fleece and the holy grail have in common? And finally how does all this relate to the aurum potable of the alchemists?

An incredible piece of music. The full Tannhäuser opera, according to Manly P. Hall in his secret teachings of all ages, includes a reference to the secret art. I have included a link to a summary that is better than I could do.
In this allegory we see how the man rises from his lustful and earthly ways. Venus here is a symbol of the lustful nature that leaves the kundalini latent in the muladhara chakra, the earthly chakra represented by the subterranean realm where Tannhäuser spent a year. Elizabeth is the Sophia of the Rosicrucians. She is like Shakti who unites with Shiva on mount Kailash. When Tännhauser dies of despair it is his ego and lower self that dies and the flower that blooms from the popes staff is as Manly P. Hall wrote, the thousand petaled lotus. Similar ideas were expressed by the German philosopher Böehme. In Wagner’s time too such concepts were still on the minds of the educated in Germany.

Take the permaculturepill people need to get back to interacting directly with nature

you’re in your late-20’s, early-30’s; you’re married and have two young kids. together, you live in a large house in the countryside. the house could use renovating, but it doesn’t need it.
Tumblr media
wildflowers grow all over your large property. bees buzz by, but never sting. they make honey for your family to sell and enjoy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in your backyard is a garden. you and your spouse wear overalls and bandanas while you harvest the fruits and vegetables you’ve worked so hard on; you sell whatever you don’t eat.
Tumblr media
next to the garden is a pasture: you raise cows, bunnies, sheep, and chickens. you’ve taught your children to collect eggs every morning, while you and your spouse milk the cows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
although you have technology, wifi, and service, your family doesn’t rely on it for entertainment and communication. you play board games, read books, and write letters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
your house is your own. you fall asleep in the arms of the person you love, happily content with life.

Arthur Rackham, Wagner’s Ring Cyle, 1910. England.
Richard Wagner’s Ring (Der Ring des Nibelungen) is a set of four epic operas based on Germanic mythology. The operas follow the struggles of Norse gods, heroes, and mythical creatures over a magic Ring that grants domination over the entire world. Drama and intrigue continue through three generations of protagonists, until the final cataclysmic ending of their mythic world. Via flickr/plum leaves

The solar hero first must first have the knowledge of the waters before he may cross them. Polarity is a rule present in all things and your nature is no exception. You first need to know yourself and what it is that is in you that you find good and righteous and live by and for those parts of yourself while recognizing the base and evil parts of yourself and knowing they are still there lurking. In the hermetic tradition the dragon represents your repressed, unwanted self. The act of slaying this dragon is the ultimate act of self purification but it can only be done if the slayer knows that nature well and recognizes its existence in the first place.
