Eighty-Nine) Captain Marvel #Marvelution2023 I like the @captainmarvelofficial film, but I wouldn’t call it a top-tier @marvel effort. I would have liked to have seen more @clarkgregg, but oh well. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqZp2rBua2-/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Eighty-Eight) WWE Legends: Jake the Snake Roberts This was one of the better @wwe @aetv biographies thus far. Jake Roberts was one of the best WWE stars of the 1980s and 1990s and deserves the recognition of a WWE Legends biography. The thing that made this one stick out above the eighteen @aetv documentaries is they didn’t skimp on the darkness of Jake and his demons. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqXYRPrOHSi/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Eighty-Seven) X-Men and the Dark Phoenix Why do so many people hate on this? It’s not the worst X-Men film. Sure, X-Men: Dark Phoenix may not be as good as the rest as of the X-Men: Beginnings saga, but it is still a good X-Men film nonetheless. The X-Men franchise may not have stuck the landing on the bow out, but it could have been worse, much worse. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqUjRAku5r3/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Eighty-Six) Real Steel Don’t knock this as just a Rocky x Rock Em Sock Em Robots movie. It’s a really good family themed, buddy road trip film disguised as a sports movie. Don’t, ahem, knock it til you give it a watch. And yeah, I do realize I’m talking about a dozen year old flick here. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqPc9FaMwJB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Eighty-Five) Jurassic Park For a thirty year old movie (on June 9th), Jurassic Park holds up quite well. I just watched it on @peacock where they had it in 4K, and the film looks so good, it could have been released today. This is easily one of, if not, my favorite films by Spielbergo. He did a magnificent job making this seminal film of the 1990s. I have only seen 15 of Spielberg’s 38 directed movies? I need to work on that. Maybe I should Spielberg month it next month in April. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqLyqnkuhCZ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Eighty-Four) The Truman Show #JimCarreyBinge I love this movie of Jim Carrey's. I think it is one of his more understated roles because of the fact that he toned down his manic overacting you see from his earlier works. The Truman Show is one of his better movies that everyone can enjoy. The only thing that hurts it , in my opinion anyway, is the release of similar film, EDtv, that came out not too soon after. There is one similarity between EDtv and The Truman Show that often gets overlooked. Harry Shearer (The Simpsons, Godzilla) is in both The Truman Show and EDtv as essentially the same character where he is a TV interviewer. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqJ0EtzuxXl/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Eighty-Three) Liar Liar #JimCarreyBinge Liar Liar has to be the best Jim Carrey film. This movie, Liar Liar, is beyond a shadow of a doubt hilarious and laugh every minute funny. It is singlehandedly the best Jim Carrey film I have ever seen. I haven't seen them all as of yet (20/35, 57.142%), but I can say that of the slew of cinema I have seen of his, this is the apex, his Mount Everest. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqJsaa_u4og/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Eighty-Two) The Cable Guy #JimCarreyBinge While not Jim Carrey's best, it is a good movie nonetheless. Personally, I would rate it higher than Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. Jim Carrey, Matthew Broderick, and Leslie Mann gelled really well together onscreen. There could have been more usage of Jack Black, but a little can go a long way. The only part I did not like was how the story didn't wrap up for the B-story of Ben Stiller playing the guy on trial. They cut off the resolution. Why build that whole thing up, albeit the background, only to cut it off? I would have loved a spinoff film aball about the trial case in which they teaser as a UPN movie of the week thing. Matthew Broderick may have been the lead, but Jimbo stole rhe show here. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqHsU7kM50d/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Eighty-One) Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls #jimcarreybinge I love this movie, but it doesn't hold up as well as the original in my opinion. When Nature Calls probably was not as good as Pet Detective due to rushing the sequel out a year after. It still is one the great comedic films of the 1990s. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqHFhjcua6G/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Eighty) The True Story of WrestleMania A good WWE biography/documentary, if you don’t mind the pro-WWE stance of it all.. A little bit disjointed and certain parts seemed misedited, but still serviceable. And, was that Keith David doing narration? It sounded like him. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqG_jhbOQqq/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Seventy-Nine) Dumb and Dumber Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were hilarious in Dumb and Dumber. The crazy thing about the film is that Jim Carrey was paid $7,000,000, while Jeff Daniels did the film for a lowly $50,000. That is crazy. Jim Carrey had a hell of a year in 1994, though. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber all came out within the same year. Wowsers. Jeff Daniels had a good year as well with Dumb and Dumber & Speed. Weird catch…one of the hitmen (Karen Duffy) was in two films about someone lucking into millions of dollars being chased for a week (ish) in 1994. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqEruhnO9jO/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Seventy-Eight) The Mask The Mask has to be the best of Jim Carrey’s trifecta of comedy gold in 1994. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective was solid, Dumb and Dumber was dumbfunny, but The Mask was the total package. Funny, great pacing, and just the right length to where the film doesn’t overstay its welcome. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqEcOTdu2VL/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Seventy-Seven) Ace Ventura: Pet Detective Hilarious film. Jim Carrey was great as the main character in a role that made his career. No matter how many times I see this movie, it never gets old. Jim Carrey is at the height of his comedic abilities in this flick. And it is pretty outrageously hysterical that the mental hospital doctor in Ace Ventura was also the Mayor in the Ghostbusters films. Maybe the evenrs of the first two @ghostbusters films forced a career change. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqEXcbkOK0a/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
