A bunch of people have pointed out that the thing the rat grinders (or at the very least Kitbitch) don't get is that the bad kids care deeply about each other and their friendship and comunication makes them work better together but also how kind and good and nice to people they are in general and around the world has also helped to get them to where they are.

Whilst not as directly combat related that's why they win. Their parties and all the stuff Fabian puts in his place are open to everyone when it could very easily be restricted, despite fighting her once they become friends with Torreck Railgrinder as soon as they see her again and she's at the LGBTQ+ union at school, they became friends with Ragh, they don't make fun of the people in the weird ass clubs Riz joins (and even all get excited about one w/ Gertie and her bees) THAT is why people like them, THAT is why Kristen is gonna win the election and THAT is why they often get help for their crazy shit

but further than that they helped Aelwyn and Jawbone and Lydia all in different ways and again continue to pile up allies everywhere they go and have even more help with all their investigation, but in smaller scales they have had help in their past missions they have just been kinda nice and got help (like the tinkerers in the forest w/ Gorgug or Garthy in leviathan, or Bud Cubby)

The bad kids win and will continue to do so because they are GOOD and have heart and create community and they all care deeply all the time

The action writing has always been amazing in this show but the TENSION this season. I can’t cope. Also, that body at the end! A reference to the circle of fifths?? I’m gonna get emotionally wrecked by the murderer reveal, I can already tell.
