🎈 Happy 7th anniversary to Natsume Mito’s album, Natsumelo 🎈
Natsume’s first and only album. Released in 2017. Around 1,200 copies sold. Debuted at 64 on the charts. Came and went like a bus. But it was far more consistent and better in quality than what Nakata was putting out for Capsule, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and Perfume at the time.
This shot is such a Kyary way to announce a pregnancy. It looks like it could be cover art for a single. I’m actually surprised we didn’t get a song to go with the announcement.
Congrats to Kyary and her husband who gave absolutely nothing on Terrace House.
When I saw Hikaru Utada was re-recording “Traveling”, I was nervous for a bitch. (Me, I am ‘bitch’). But it turned out good! It strikes a nice balance between featuring enough of the OG version for it to be nostalgic, but enough newness that it can exist as its own thing.
This commercial which featured the new version of “Traveling” also so good, that it easily could have been extended into a full music video. But at least we got a full two minutes of it. And there were some cool nods to the original music video too.
If like me you’re like ‘Oooo, that bomber jacket is fire’. It’s the Sacai Nylon Twill Blouson. But if like me you’re also like ‘I don’t have Sacai money’—girl, same.
Beyoncé pulling up to sign ‘limited edition’ Cowboy Carter vinyl’s that she knows are a scam—wearing a Linda Martell T-shirt, when Linda is not on the ‘Limited edition’ vinyl version of Cowboy Carter due to it not featuring “Spaghetti” or “The Linda Martell Show” is very messy behaviour.
And to then post a video of the event using “Ya Ya”, when that song also is not on the vinyl version of the album!?
Messy behaviour act ii.
Beyoncé and her team have gotta do better for act iii. The whole rollout of the physical copies of Cowboy Carter has been an absolute mess. I really do hope there is a second press which features all of the songs, the horse cover, an inlay booklet of photos and full song credits—just as the case was with Renaissance.
Y’all. Look at this unboxing video of Cowboy Carter. No inlay booklet. No song credits. Not even a tracklist. Just a crusty poster and a QR code. This shit looks like a bootleg. I ain’t buying this.
Let me know when Cowboy Carter is re-released with the superior horse cover, an inlay booklet with photos, song credits and a tracklist which includes “Ya Ya”.
Here’s a megamix to buss it to on the 16th anniversary of Perfume’s Game. Which starts with a B-side which isn’t on the album and ends with a version of a single which also isn’t on the album.
🎈 Happy 16th anniversary to Perfume’s first studio album, Game. 🎈
I wasn’t fond of this album at first. And one commentor on my review summed up something I wouldn’t get about this album until later on — ‘Perfume is meant to be [visualised]’.
🎈 Happy 10th anniversary to Kylie Minogue’s twelfth studio album, Kiss Me Once 🎈
Released on 14 March 2014.
This album was not good. But it does feature the song “If Only”. Which is not only a clear standout on this album, but a song I’d deem as one of Kylie’s best.
🎈 Happy 18th anniversary to Crystal Kay’s sixth studio album, Call Me Miss... 🎈
This album features Crystal’s hit single “Koi ni Ochitara” (a song she doesn’t like) and fan favourite “Kirakuni” (a song which isn’t available on streaming globally).
