yessss as a glasses-wearer (and glasses can be expensive man) it was a big wake up call thinking “wait so many people don’t have to fork out loads of money just to be able to see properly” and then going HOT DANG but there are so many other disability aids that are even harder to get or way more expensive as well
wheelchairs and canes and glasses and hearing aids and every single other disability aid should be free btw and if you disagree i hate you
today in "google AI is fucking useless because it hallucinates things that never happened", i bought a couple CVS thermometers that have both been acting up, tried to search if there had been a problem with the whole product line:
there is no record of this product recall. it did not happen. the date "feb 8 2024" is the date someone listed a thermometer for sale on ebay.
Paul Williams darting around that stage all night perfectly embodies how I feel listening to Surf Music and what I want to be doing while I’m really standing stock still on public transport
Also for some reason I didn’t realise he played basketball (bc I’m an idiot) but watching him dart around made it all make sense
james spent the evening after the football match playing drums on stage with paul williams and nish kumar! (another short video at the source)
On the topic of seeing other stories from a Christian perspective: Whenever I read stories from other ancient cultures I always think about how their gods would usually come so close but in the end they couldn’t beat death (Hermdor being unable to bring Baldr back, Orpheus being unable to bring Eurydice back, Izanagi being unable to bring Izanami back, etc.) and I think of how those peoples must have felt when they heard that Christ won against death.
