I’m pretty sure the snake in the second picture posted is just a juvenile. Most sources I can find about the size of these snakes describe them as several feet long, possibly up to 8 or 9 maximum but usually more in the 4 foot range. You can kind of see some of the differences in proportion between the two pictures with the adult having a relatively larger body, smaller eyes, etc.
