actually i wanna talk about rapunzel and her relationship with her hair real quick... it is both a pride for her and ALSO a ball and chain. it signifies that she's kept as an object, a pet, something to admire, but she's also extremely vain about it. she loves her hair, even if it gets in the way, even if she wishes it only went to her knees instead. it also keeps her relatively less hyperactive, as its harder to move around when you're tripping over your own locks. it also adds to her imprisonment.
