So I watched The Girl In The Spider's Web (2018) which is the sequel to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2011) and... wow.

What a stupid film.

It suffers from the typical hollywoodism of "next movie must be bigger" with embiggened stakes. First film was a somewhat reasonable (but batshit) journalism expose of a serial killer, whereas the 2nd film is HOLY SHIT QUANTUM SOFTWARE CAN LAUNCH NUKES AND DESTROY THE WORLD James Bond stupidity.

I watched this thing and it was a trainwreck of stupid tropes.

Then I rewatched the 2011 Daniel Craig/Rooney Mara film and was captivated once again by an amazing deep delve into madness & intrigue. Such a good piece of art. 11/10 stars. Would fuck Daniel Craig.
