So! I’ve consolidated all of my muses onto a multimuse (except Merlin, he’s retaining his own blog). This is primarily because I just can’t cope with more than 3 blogs and I’ll be starting classes come October, so I’d like to have an easy way to knock things out whilst continuing to write the characters I love.
Said blog can be found here, so I guess you can consider this a shitty promo!

well he can’t help it – considering he fell in the river just a few moments ago. blinks, then slightly frowns at the talking cat. Inuyasha doesn’t seem surprised, doesn’t even question it – he’s seen stranger. he gets on his fours and shakes the water off to dry himself, as a dog does. ❛  yeah? well now you smell like wet cat.  ❜ he sits in front of the black cat and sticks his tongue out.
Tumblr media
“Well~” Word comes as a drawl, watching bedraggled boy shaking himself off like the priorly mentioned animal. How.... vulgar. It draws a laugh from her, clearly amused at his antics for all they are childish. “I suppose I am quite clearly a cat, so that would make sense. You however are a very strange looking dog.”

It hurt, even as she listened it hurt. The pain struck that part of her heart like hot iron, it burned and if she had it in her she was sure her anger would have flared, but the wound was too old to be reignited. The truth stung, but it was still the truth and it wasn’t easy to accept, but deep down she knew it to be true as well. She wasn’t even a ranked officer, she was just a bumbling puppy dog chasing after a master that wasn’t ever hers to begin with. She had never had Yoruichi, and she never would, but that was a truth she had only recently accepted. Soi Fon would have followed, she would have never stopped chasing if she had never lost the scent, she was too dependent back then. The words in her throat are some she thought she’d never say, they tasted foreign in her mouth, “I know you’re right, I know I was a child. I know you just did what was best for me.”
                                                                                A PAUSE.
“It doesn’t make it hurt any less, but I’m sorry. You’re right, I suppose you still kind of see me as that child pining after you huh?”, she couldn’t help except look at the feline on top of her with a sad smile. She reached up and hesitated but swallowed her fear and touched the feline’s head, “Thanks for always looking out for me, even when I didn’t want it. I guess it’s time to accept that you just were doing what was best for me. Perhaps I’ve been bitter for too long, angry for too long.” The pain still coiled in her chest, but for the first time in over 100 years, she felt the softest bit of relief.
“In my defense, you’re not known for your detailed explanations.”, her silver eyes narrowing, “You didn’t even answer my question earlier. Don’t think I didn’t notice.” She let her hand fall back to her side and moved her head to the side as well to see the wind blowing the blades of grass. She listened carefully and clenched her fist, she still didn’t agree and perhaps she never would. Yoruichi was a cat, the choice of freedom seemed to come so easy, but Soi Fon considered herself loyal like a dog ready to die at her master’s side. The only problem was she had lacked a master for so long, she did everything for the ghost of someone who never existed.
Soi Fon sighed and turned her gaze back to the black cat still sitting on top of her, “I can’t really remember the last time I was really happy. Perhaps when I get a good kill or master something I thought was impossible for me.” She thought a little harder, that wasn’t true happiness. That was once again, her fulfilling her purpose. A sinking realization. “What if you don’t know HOW to be happy?” She shifted her gaze again, “I don’t like my Bankai because I feel like it hurts my pride and honor as an assassin. It makes me upset to see all my hard work put into such a flashy display, it feels like a spit in my face. Perhaps you’re right about everything, you know things were less complicated while you were gone.”
She covered her eyes with a hand and laughed softly.
“Nobody has the BALLS to get onto me like you do, like you always have.                                 Your love is tough, but deep down I admit it’s fair…                                                        Yoruichi.”
For the first time in her life, she dropped the proper name.
Tumblr media
The admission catches her off guard, though if this form had the ability to smile no doubt she would have been. “I do not see a child when I look at you. I see a proud woman who has clawed her way to a position she undoubtedly deserves; that is what I see. Nothing less.” She was proud of Soi Fon and indeed always would be, even as the younger woman had tried so hard to kill her she had felt pride. What pained her was seeing Soi Fon unable to find those same resolute feelings herself.
Head inclines into touch, thrumming purr escaping small form. Their relationship is undoubtedly a complicated one, but at its heart it is one built on trust and deep-rooted care. Love perhaps, whatever the form it might take.
“This is why I wished to see it, you seem unable to move past something which is truly no issue at all.” But then Yoruichi supposed that her outlook may have been different, then again knowing how she seemed to shrug off hardships it was just as likely she would accepted it and move on. Soi Fon was, in a way, deceptively sensitive about certain things. Evidently this was one of them, though as with most things Yoruichi finds she does not mind.
Lack of honorific is noted and welcomed, though again form prevents outward reaction other than continued hum of a purr.
“I am many things and many people have opinions on what those ‘things’ might be, but above all I have always been fair. I will always be fair.” Which was perhaps a rarity for the upper class, but Yoruichi lived to be an exception in life. “We must all know what we are and are not, Soi Fon. If you do not know how to be happy then you must learn, else you will live a tired life and that is not something I would wish for you. Nor something you should wish for yourself.”

Feeling those tiny cat paws press on her chest made the woman tense a bit, but as she felt the claws dig in encouraging her to stay she let her muscles relax. The gentle breeze felt nice, everything about this situation felt nice except THIS topic. Why did it have to be this topic, it was complicated and messy. Soi Fon let her back and shoulders press against the ground which let her overworked body pop in a satisfying way. When was the last time she had taken a break?
                                                           Maybe never.
The former student listened intently, her inner walls crashing down all around them. A softer expression made its way onto her face and she looked akin to a scolded child once more. Had they ever really just sat and talked before? Soi Fon couldn’t remember, except maybe those nights where they trained so many years ago. Life was much different then, her feelings were different then.
“I have a fine relationship with Suzumebachi.”, there was a pause as she thought about it, “Well our personalities kind of clash, but I wouldn’t go as far and say I don’t need her.” There was always part of her that felt like Suzumebachi didn’t fit her, but part of her also loved and cared for her zanpakuto deeply. They belonged together, just like any shinigami and zanpakuto.
She hummed a bit in thought before hearing Yoruichi ask if she saw this part of herself as UGLY, she couldn’t help except laugh at the idea. It was a soft genuine laugh, nobody had ever asked Soi Fon if she felt ugly pretty or indifferent. She was a warrior, not a lady.
“Ugly huh?  That’s a new one Lady Yoruichi, I don’t really think about aesthetics very often.”, she calmed her laughter before looking up at that serious gaze, “Oh. You’re being serious.” Silver eyes shifted to the sky past the feline and beyond, she let her head relax in the grass taking a deep breath.
“I had five older brothers growing up, I was the youngest of six. The only thing I’ve ever known is well…the militia. It has been in my blood since I was born, I remember the first time I ever thought something was truly beautiful is when I saw you. You were as bright as the sun and as radiant as the moon, a goddess to a child like me. I worshipped you for so long, then…”
Her voice got caught in her throat but she took a breath and kept going.
“After you left, I hated you. I cursed you, I wanted to surpass you. The things I did to surpass you, to push myself to the limits and beyond. To keep the honor I had vowed my life to from birth, the pride I had abandoned my birth name for. Soi Fon was my great-grandmother, I took her code name and I swore to myself then and then again when you left that I’d never let myself disappoint or tarnish that vow again. If you abandoned everything, then I would step up and take all your responsibility.  It’s what I was born for.”
It was a pride thing, it had always been a pride thing. An honor bound in blood and scrubbed into her brain since before she was even born. Where Yoruichi had chosen her freedom, Soi Fon had chosen the chains. Her Bankai was a disgrace to her honor, to her name, to everything she had worked her whole life for.
Tumblr media
Ah, she supposed the change of topic had been inevitable. Feet tuck under small body as she lays upon chest, ears twitching against the breeze which played against glossy fur. This had been coming, and whilst Yoruichi did not yet see the connection all roads seem to lead here for Soi Fon. It would be a disgrace to them both to dismiss it, wounding Soi Fon deeply and doing her a grave disservice. Instead she listens as long as once student wishes to speak, quiet against the truths she is being offered.
Quiet, at least, until Soi Fon stopped.
“I did not abandon ‘everything’. You were a child, one who knew so little of life and it would have been cruel of me to take you with me no matter my own feelings or yours.” Yoruichi knows well it had been devastating to Soi Fon, but to say goodbye would have meant to be followed and Yoruichi could not permit Soi Fon to destroy her life also. Perhaps it should have been younger’s choice to make, but Shihoin would stand by her choice unwavering. It had been the right thing to do, even if it had hurt.
“You misunderstand what I did and why. I did my duty, though it appears even now others do not see it as such.” Heavy sigh escapes feline form, tail swishing back and forth against woman under her. “However what I did and did not do is not the question here, I cannot change my actions and nor would I.”
Perhaps it is here that Yoruichi sees clearly what she had always known; had watched in the way young child had fawned over her, lost lamb looking for a light to cling to. “If that is all you were born for then you must learn to be more and live for yourself. Live to be happy. We are all born for a purpose, however that purpose should never define who we choose to be. We are not unfeeling machines.” No matter what this system they lived in had tried to tell them.

After having her ass knocked on the ground from that ridiculous recoil the woman was trying to catch her breath. This was humiliating, why had Yoruichi been so adamant about seeing her Bankai anyway? Walking back over to feline, silver eyes glanced up at the sky, her eyes narrowing at the smoke clearing from such a GAUDY attack. Her honor and pride as an assassin were tarnished every time she was forced to take it out. “Too loud, too flashy, too heavy…I could go on, but I digress.”, her voice sounded tired. Even firing off one missile took a lot out of her, she couldn’t imagine trying to do it more than three times in a pinch. Even the thought of three made her sweat a bit which she quickly wiped from her brow flicking it onto the ground.
Soi Fon shifted her gaze to see the black cat eyeing her like that, she then heard a laugh and immediately huffed. She hardly saw how this was funny, and then there it came. Was she being serious?! Dropping to her knees she looked at her former master in disbelief.
“How can you possibly tell me there is nothing wrong with an assassin…”, she gestures to herself, “…having that kind of weapon! It! IT!” She groaned and laid on her back taking in a breath of air, she always did let her dearest friend get her worked up. “You know how I feel about it, why did you want to see it anyway? I don’t use it unless I absolutely must. You don’t even use your Zanpakto these days so I hardly see why I need my Bankai. It doesn’t match who I am or what I am supposed to represent.” Soi Fon adjusted herself so she’d be laying on her side propped up on one elbow, she was finally allowing herself to be more casual around Yoruichi. It had taken far longer than it should have, but that didn’t mean her respect for the woman faltered even slightly. She’d always have admiration for her former master, she’d always treasure the time they’d spent together, but she had grown. They both had, and Soi Fon had grown into a respectable woman herself.
“So why’d you drag me away from work to show you my Bankai anyway?”
Tumblr media
Soi Fon is far from the child Yoruichi had left all those years ago, but she still sees something of that girl in the marvellous woman before her. This self directed frustration is the peak of it, the tip of all and perhaps the main thing which still ailed that fragile heart of hers. That was why Yoruichi had insisted on seeing, a need to understand what other felt and see if perhaps there was anything she could do to alleviate. Often times Yoruichi was aloof-- distant-- but where it mattered she could be warm and kind.
As Soi Fon rolled to back and Yoruichi stepped upon chest, looking down at her successor as she rambled on about her distaste. She goes to roll to side and feline digs claws in ever so, signal to remain though of course if young woman remained committed to action Yoruichi would simply hop off once more. So much to say, and so many questions to answer. Oh dear~
“I do not use mine because he is content for me not to, and because the way I fight is the way he enjoys fighting most of all. This is not so with yours, is it? If it were you would not have been using it all this time.” Soft sigh escapes as she sits once more, whether it be on Soi Fon or ground is unimportant. “My Zanpakuto is still part of me, and were I to neglect him I would be weaker for it. He fights with me always, simply in spirit rather than in blade. We cannot carve parts of our souls out feeling ‘we do not need them’. That is both foolish and arrogant.” She hopes of course Soi Fon already knows this, hopes she is simply being stubborn as she often can be.
Soft sigh escapes, ears lilting to side as she considers. “Stealth is important, but there are times where that is not the most ideal of choices. Your Zanpakuto makes you versatile for all you see it as.... what? What do you see? Do you find this part of yourself ugly?” Throughout of course she has failed to answer Soi Fon’s question, but Yoruichi could be troublesome like that.

“You smell like wet dog.” Words are derisive and without much thought to potential insult that could be caused, ears flicking as head tilts looking over stranger. He is clearly not human, though she deigns not to make comment on the matter as it seems somewhat unimportant to her.

“Oh yes,” she says, masculine voice deep and at odds with what was under the feline visage she offered now. “I see what you mean, that is quite.... loud.” Certainly one would not miss younger’s bankai, something which evidently irritated her once student to no end. Yoruichi could see why, but equally only in acceptance of one’s whole self could one find true strength. This Bankai was part of her, something expressing itself that she was evidently trying to hide. Golden eyes turn to woman then, fixing her under a scrutiny before she sits with flick of tail and soft laugh.
“I see nothing wrong with it.” And truly she did not, but Yoruichi was more seasoned through life and had been forced to accept things she had not much cared for. To endure was a strength, but here she thinks her dear friend is simply being too hard on herself over something she has no true control over.

Gifts between the wealthy were inevitably pointless in terms of monetary value, something both clan heads knew and had lived. This was the nature of privilege, the nature of the world they were each in and in a way that understanding could be gift enough in and of itself. What she had gotten him was simply alcohol, the offer of company partnered with it. “You look filled with holiday spirit. I’d expect no less~”

Ichigo was undeniably powerful, something to which Yoruichi certainly didn’t envy but could more than admire. Respect was something hard won and easily lost from the noble, but young man had earnt and kept it throughout everything. She cared about him which was not a matter she cared to admit for all she would not deny it, leaving it as a matter of omission in every interaction. He was a good person; better than most.
“So you have two blades now.” She lounges on chair, intruding into his home without care or thought as chin is propped onto hand trace of smile gracing fine features. “That’s worrying, you hardly knew how to use one! Much like a bull in a china shop~” In her goading there is an offer if he can think past the inevitable initial outrage; hopefully he will see it~

“I’ve heard you’re hiding something. I do so like secrets, you should share it with me~” Of course Yoruichi was the master of secrets and digging them out, of bringing things to light which had remained buried for decades and centuries. This should be no different she thought, claws ready to dig in and extract that which she desired. Besides which most people did not as a whole refuse her, not if they knew what was best for the.
