Quotes to remember
Priorities in life
“Harry - you’re a great wizard, you know.”
“i’m not as good as you,” said Harry, very embarrased, as she let go of him.
“Me!” said hermonie. “Books! And cleverness! There are more important things - friendship and bravery....”
Love is generous, changes & protects
He didn’t realize that love as powerful as your mother’s for you leaves it own mark. Not a scar, no visible sign...to have been loved so deeply, even though the person who loved us is gone, will give us some protection forever. It is in your very skin. Quirrell, full of hatred, greed, and ambition, sharing his soul with Voldemort, could not touch you for this reason. It was agony to touch a person marked by something so good.
A type of bravery that needs more public discourse
“There are all kinds of courage,” said Dumbledore, smiling. “It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.”

A blog just for me (but also anyone else who comes across it) to record my trials, ramblings and gratitude (as TSwift sang, “i’m taking pictures in my mind so i can save them for a rainy day.”)
Today, I’m grateful for CA rain to nourish our parched land.
For seeing old friends thriving (professionally & relationally). What a joy to be (re)united with old & new friends coming out of a pandemic (fingers crossed that the light this time is here to stay.)
Tumblr media
For small joys that keep me sane during wfh:
+ Fresh hot pizza from Floriella with custom Bay Area related wallpaper.
+ Trader joe’s spicy chai latte mix (a great supplement to coffee or black tea).
+ The magical world of Harry Potter (I’m rereading the first book since I first read the series as a kid. Harry Potter has been a god-send to me during this year of grief. I appreciate it more as an adult than when I was a kid, so much so that I can’t bear to read any other J.K. Rowling book. I don’t want to leave this universe ever!).
+ B’s generosity and expertise as a mentor. There’s this satisfaction that comes from seeing someone be SO darn good at their job. But may I never be content with just seeing or being near expertise - we must strive to do deep, good work if we have the opportunity to do so!
okay, back to work!
