No state has a "right to exist". The purpose of institutions is to serve human beings, and if your institution is slaughtering human beings en masse then it must be stopped. The survival of the institution itself in this scenario is of almost no import.

i think the worst thing about the whole “anti-woke” culture is how it’s not only dumbing down people (folks are literally forgetting pronouns are an actual word class, an inseperable part of grammar and everyday speech) but also praising meanness and insensibility above all. it has managed to make malice and unkindness synonymous with factfulness and reason as if intelligence didn’t stem from emotions. as if feelings weren’t the very core of human beings. as if knowledge wasn’t achieved through passion, sympathy, and open-mindedness. as if the whole crux of this entire anti-wokeness movement wasn’t rooted in pure unadulterated emotion of hatred and hostility.

Gary Floyd, leader of the groundbreaking Austin hardcore punk band Dicks, died today. Forming the band in 1980, Floyd flaunted the fact that he was both a gay man and communist, frequently performing in drag, barking open threats of murder to police and the rich in tracks like Bourgeois Fascist Pig, Pigs Run Wild, and their most famous song, an anti-police anthem Dicks Hate The Police. The music created by Dicks was one of the single most influential factors to the shape of punk rock to come, and is often mentioned as a primary inspiration by many influential artists to follow in the late 80s through the 90s. Listen to their 1983 album Kill From The Heart and really think about how they were doing this in fucking Texas, in the early 80s.

finally got around to watching inu-oh. INCREDIBLE anime movie that needs more recognition!!!!

i mean HOLY SHIT: a historical rock opera that blends 13th century japanese war epics with modern glam rock, with a core theme of self-expression through art and the importance of preserving human history, with one protagonist being a blind and gnc musician, and the other a talented dancer ostracized for his physical deformities (VOICED BY A BLACK GENDERQUEER ARTIST), bonding with a shared goal of making their marks in history by retelling forgotten spirits’ tales through stage performances?? and it’s SOOOOOO WELL-ANIMATED TOO???????
