My obsession with grumpy man begrudgingly taking care of young child until he eventually loves them actually started with Brother Bear

I used to think it was kind of dramatic to say that a fictional character saved your life or that they changed you as a person. Until it happened to me with Commander Jane Shepard from the Mass Effect trilogy. Weirdly enough, she has helped me rethink my health.
Shepard eats and eats well enough to remain strong and healthy.
She trains her body to fight and protect people who can't protect themselves.
I want to be strong like Shepard.
I want to be able to fight like Shepard.
I want to be just like her, and as someone who has serious issues with food, health, and body image, she is a source of hope and inspiration for me. Which feels silly to say about a video game character, but it's true.
