I found this soap and had to get it.

everyone interprets cap saying “language!” in aou as him being very against foul language and thus ooc but i choose to think that (like chris evans) he was constantly swearing all the time. 

during missions in ear shot of civilians. during interviews with anyone who was on basic cable (he knows how to behave during the legit important stuff.) at parties and galas. every single conversation with the other avengers with is sprinkled with “fuck”. and it just got to the point where the avengers pr person was like “so help me steve if you don’t stop swearing i’m going to burn all of your weights.”

so when steve was all “language!” the reason people were on his ass about it was because they were all “excuse me? are you talking to us, mr the-reason-why-there-is-a-swear-jar-in-every-room-of-the-mansion? are you telling us to ease up on the language because there’s a vine of you yelling “FUCK YEAH” while punching someone in the face that has 25 million views that says you don’t get to talk.”

That was always sort of the idea for the end of the movie, and as the movie was being developed, it felt like it would be additionally cool to have that happen in Wakanda – a super advanced place. They’ve got something that he could go in. And also, it speaks to Panther’s arc. The person that he was out to kill early in the movie, he’s now nobly helping. And then, of course, that led organically to a cool moment, where Cap can go, “Thanks for doing this, but they’re going to come get you.”
