[ It was more difficult than German thought to be an observer. Much of his days were spent looking off distantly in the distance admiring life from afar. At least even in times like this he was still by Lenay’s side.
Tig turned to look at her. She really was everything to tig, wasn’t she? A smile formed. Things haven’t been easy for either of them. Tig can only imagine what Lenay’s been thinking. Did she miss tig? Or was she focused on survival?
Hopefully the latter. He’d much rather cloud survive than worry about him.
One thing German loved about cloud was nothing really ever got cloud down. Energetic and a friend to everyone, even the trees. She loved a lot, or perhaps he was used to being on that loving end, that and their kids or whatever other strange critters Lenay had gathered.
German missed talking with cloud terribly. Lenay truly lit up the world for tig in a way no one else did. Even at during their hardest times merely having cloud there helped. Enough to remind tig to keep going if just for cloud. Just like now.
When German is corporal again he won’t leave Lenay’s side, he vows. It will be them again, and however they build their lives. Them and what new things Lenay may discover. That’s a thought German has been avoiding.
Hopefully German will have a place in her heart if she finds new things in life. Tig shivers.
Now tig will stick to sighing dreamily in clouds direction, helping like a ghost. A funny, mournful, loving demon trapped in a ghost-like form. He has to wonder how that works?
Things like that somehow always work, a lot like how German and Lenay do. Demons and angels and the like. ]
