 At the moment it is just archives of fan accounts. I will still be posting Zhou Mi things, I will post fan accounts there instead of my Twitter so may end up doing a bit of posting-recent-but-late fan accounts, I will be trying to post some translations as well for Zhou Mi but mostly I just want to make my blog a bit more positive so will only be posting things like make me happy, calm, or that I find pretty or cute. I will still answer questions and will still post photos from Bumblebee :3 I will also be using tags more reliably so stuff is easier to find.

just to add that recent stuff doesn’t get subbed often because Zhou Mi has a case of the SJ fandom being old and his fans tend to be either old enough to work or be in university thus busy, or have left fandom behind though may still support him, just not really contributing to fandom anymore because it’s time consuming.

I will try to translate more stuff (like articles because thats a fine way to study Korean and attempt to improve my Korean) but my language skills are so-so and I can’t really do audio, and can’t really subtitle :/ My approach to audio is very ‘i know what he said but I can’t translate directly’.

sunshines youtube has a lot of subbed videos from some of his solo appearances on chinese tv when he was promoting rewind and thai perfect, also you can find all the korean impressions episodes where he was a host (2010 ish) here which is great if you want to see him running around being dumb. I would definitely focus on SJM things from Super Girl/Tai wan met era cuz Zhou Mi’s personality really came out around that time, and anything he’s done solo, in other appearances he can be kinda quiet and withdrawn. also recently he’s been doing a self cam series but I’ve only been watching it on naver cuz i don’t know where they are on youtube. Also if you want to snoop at like his old weibo posts and stuff ZhouMi News has an archive of them translated to english (this fansite is dead now though)if you have anything in particular you want to know you can ask me anytime!

you know… with this rise in interest in east asian culture and “aesthetics” over the past couple of years also comes with a rise in asian cultural appropriation… so for every nonasian out there who would consider themselves a fan of cutesy asian things or stuff like kpop or anime, you guys have an obligation to people of the culture you’re enjoying to be informed and educated about their struggles. it’s not right to love and consume cultures that’s not your own while ignoring the people who are part of them. read up on appropriation, the fetishisation and infantilisation of east asian women and desexualisation of asian men, whitewashing in media, xenophobia, the erasure of our achievements and the model minority myth. you owe it to us east asians to be educated on topics that concern us if you’re going to continue to consume media and content we make.
