There are too many fics where Aizawa adopts children and not enough where Mic does. Not that I don't love dadzawa, of course. I just think that Mic deserves to kidnap some children as well.

before levi knew how to read or write (or spell words) what is the likelihood when people were having a conversation in front of him they’d spell out words when it came to something they didn’t want levi to know😭😭😭😭
erwin, levi and hange over drinks:
levi: “How the hell do you plan on making up an expedition before winter with all the funds we don’t have?”
erwin: “Increasing likability. For instance, there’s a meeting in the Captol coming up soon. It’d be beneficial if you came along.”
levi, confused: “Why the hell would it?”
erwin: “You’re very popular, of course. If the right people knew of your strength, they would consider the Survey Corps a good investment.”
hange: “Yes, I agree! Levi is probably the best thing since sliced bread.”
levi, so flustered he can barely speak: “What does that even mean, Four-Eyes.”
hange, after exchanging a playful look with erwin: “…Your greatest asset is that you’re p-r-e-t-t-y.”
levi glares vicious daggers at them. his head whips in erwin’s direction. “what did this annoying asshole just spout?”
erwin: “if you knew, then you’d deny it.”

Do you think Erwin and Levi might have had a romantic relationship or simply one of camaraderie? And do you think there was still lingering dislike between them on a personal level?
How would you characterize Levi’s and Erwin’s relationship?
I don’t think there’s anythingsuggesting romance, nor dislike for that matter. Certainly Levi hated Erwin atfirst (counting ACWNR as canon), but as we see them in the manga, I’d say thedefining characteristic of their relationship is respect. Levi massivelyrespects Erwin for his tactical foresight and obeys his orders withoutargument, while Erwin places great faith in him to accomplish the hardest tasks.
As the recipient of the famous Ackerbond, Levi also respects Erwin on anotherlevel, which according to Isayama was that he saw him as a selfless person willing to fully devote himself to humanity.
Ackermans, as a bloodline that guards kings, seem prone to bonding with and idolising charismatic figures who represent abstract values to them. Ackermans are strong, but they also need something to believe in, as Erwin provides for Levi.
So when Erwin smiled after finding out Titans were humans all along, Levi’s image of him was shaken.
This was Levi’s first hint to Erwin’s real motivations - his curiosity about the true nature of the world. Far from a selfless goal. We see a similar reaction from Levi when Erwin admits it outright.
Again according to Isayama, part of why Levi encouraged Erwin to sacrifice himself (and later why he didn’t resurrect him) was so he could become that selfless person he pretended to be. Levi could see that Erwin desired it too; he saw it as his redemption.
Erwin felt he owed it to all his fallen soldiers to live up to the rhetoric they died for, instead of just serving his hidden agenda.
In the end Levi sees Erwin as less of an idol and more of a victim. A human as weak as any other who has suffered and made mistakes, but redeemed himself in the end. He continues to respect him, but now in a different, more understanding, and more human way.
