It arrived ☆*･゜ﾟ･*\(^O^)/*･゜ﾟ･*☆ Hamatora Fanbook Arrived!!!!
Eto … to be honest, for someone who’s hesitant between buying Pash! Perfect File or Gakken Hamatora Fanbook … when it comes to quality I’ll sugest the Perfect File because the paper of the Gakken Fanbook is uhn like those carton feel-like paper. A bit like the paper off the monthly books pre-chapter releases. (Not the bad paper of the Weekly Jump or Young Jump. Rather the paper they use for magazines like “Wings” or “Ciel” etc…)
But yes, while Pash! Perfect File used really good quality paper, the Fanbook is a bit less interesting, looking like you’ve bought a monthly magazine.
The content mainly consist of illustration we already knew and they had to end it with some doodles of the staff

I’m working slowly on the scans (probably up for tomorrow or with luck tonight?)

Translation: Nice and Art's friendship (from Hamatora Perfect File)
Nice and Art’s friendship
——Tracking the relationship that has changed between them with the shift in standpoints.
1. The Police and The Detective
Caption: Make good use of that info, okay?
The job request that Nice took to investigate the recent kidnapping of college girls was actually from the police. Art smiled while sitting opposite Nice, giving him more details of the case. He even picked up the tab before leaving. This was how the elite police and the penniless-detective got along all this time.
2. The one who has It and the one who doesn’t
Art was envious of Nice who was blessed by the power of his Minimum. However, he did not express this feeling in front of anyone. Nice on the other hand who wasn’t aware of Art’s complex thoughts, declared “don’t just decide people are weak!” to express his irritation with Itou Shouko’s promotion of equality. Did Nice just say that because he was among the Strong? Art’s resolve as a non-Minimum Holder was weakened by Moral’s speech, this in turn slowly started to create distance between Nice and Art.
3. The Delicate and the Clumsy
Nice finally went beyond the limit of Art (the-no-talent-boy)’s tolerance, therefore was rejected by him.
4. Intimate friends
Caption: You don’t need to have a right to be friends with anyone
Moral offered Art Minimum powers so that he could be a proper minimum holder, as he believed “someone without a minimum could never have the right to be Nice’s company”. But Art refused to accept Moral’s proposal. He understood that Nice did not choose who to befriend with based on whether they have a minimum or not, because he was already Nice’s best friend.
5. The one who holds sins and the one who collects it
Caption: I don’t work with him, he’s just my friend.
The next time Art showed himself in front of Nice, he became a killer solely aiming for his life. He claimed that he still considered Nice his irreplaceable friend, but right now he just had to kill him. On the other hand, Nice seemed to have realize that Art was driven by some kind of mission, therefore forcing himself to do something he wouldn’t have done otherwise.
6. Buddies speak with their fists
Caption: If you die again, I’ll kill you!
Neither Nice nor Art would have cared if their best friend had a minimum in the first place. Despite their differences, they still would have bumped into each other and laughed together with their hearts. Although it took a long path for them to reconcile, but from now on their relationship would never change!
Staff Comment (By Director Seiji Kishi)
The two have been good friends since meeting each other at FacultasAcademy. Just like how much Art cares for Nice, Nice’s feelings towards Art is also very strong. However, Nice won’t admit “I like you” in front of the person he dotes on, just like a child who cannot talk straight. That’s why he wasn’t able to approach and talk to Art properly even when he knew that Art was suffering over his minimum.
Nice got to know Art before Art came to care much about the whole minimum concept; therefore he was able to “seize” Art as his friend. On the other hand, Art was so overwhelmed with not having a minimum so he lost sight of his own identity. Practically speaking, Art is already intelligent and has quite attractive looks. He should have considered these as his own talents, but he still did not get what he wanted the most. That’s really like crying for the moon. No matter where we go, we always long for things we don’t have.

More Hamatora Fanbook stuff (Niceart-related)
1. Hiroshi Kamiya finds Art adorable and he tried his best to make sure he demonstrates consistency in Art’s character despite the plot change.
2. Jun Kumagai (Series Script writer) said the character he emphasize the most with is Nice. Nice might look a “nuisance” by the first sight but the more people get to know him, the more they realize he’s actually a nice guy. He only does what he believes is right.
Kumagai also talked about the relationship between Nice and Art. He thinks Nice really likes Art for sure. But Nice being too straightforward might lead to others hating on him because he always expresses his opinion without hesitation. He naturally points out things that Art tries to hide but he means no offence. But it’s because Nice respect Art so much that he has to be honest with him. Art does understand the fact Nice is only being straightforward with him, however, his cruel innocence stabs Art brutally in the heart and it hurts him a lot. Jun Kumagai wants to portray their relationships in the story as much as possible.
Also he is the one who decided OTP should mean “I WILL BE THE SUGAR TO YOUR COFFEE” in Kakumeiki Valvrave (yes Kumagai was the father of coffee ship)
And here in Hamatora we have this coincidence where Nice randomly came up with a fake last name Satou (佐藤) which in Japanese has same pronunciation with sugar(砂糖). And guess what does Art like to put into his coffee? (In Hamatora the Novel you’ll get to learn that Art doesn’t like coffee at all but sugar-coffee is an exception. Naturally he would just go for black tea).
3. Three’s voice actor Katsuki Murase mentioned that Murasaki is totally aware of his own good looks, while Ratio and Art don’t really know (or care) how cute looking they really are.
In his opinion Ego means “something you can’t give away even knowing you are hurting the others”. He thinks although in the end Art gets punished for his sins, Hamatora is a story where everybody breaks the rule for their own beliefs. For example, Nice and Murasaki vandalized a lot of puclic/private properties throughout the story; Murasaki and Three also violated the law by carrying deadly weapon with them; Master and Honey’s dad are guilty for using children on human experimentation (let alone they amputated Skills’s limbs to squish him into a machine); and Moral snatching away Art’s smile is also a sin. As Art’s master, three probably would have told him: “In the end, death can’t pay for your sin, but you can atone for your sins while you are still living.”
4. Katsuki Murase also mention a small scenario where Art is in a bathe like:

Hamatora original script: Nice was the one who killed Skill
According to the interview with Art's voice actor Hiroshi Kamiya, before the script writor decided to change the script (sometime during season 2), what Moral whispered to Art in S107 was actually “it was Nice who killed your brother” (at least that’s what the cast has been told).
However, in ep12 Nice still has Skill’s heart (which is the reason why Art said “I’m sorry for been late” to his brother), and Art didn’t shoot Nice for revenge or hatred.
He also revealed that Art was the Student Council President while he was at Facultas.

ch1 p52 Koneko recommends Art to order coffee, but he declines it.

“I’m sorry I’m late a bit. Koneko, can I ask a cup of black tea?”
Apologizing to Honey, Art gave an order to Koneko and sat down on Honey’s opposite side of the table.
“Yes, a cup of black tea. Please wait a minute.”
Koneko saw Master for a second. Even if she didn’t deliver his order to him, Master already started to prepare a cup of black tea. It always is (it’s a routine) that Art orders black tea. Koneko has never seen Art having coffee.
“Well, Art-san. How about having some coffee sometimes? Master’s coffee is great.”
“In fact, I can’t drink coffee well. I’m sorry, you just cared about me (*).”
Art gave a wry smile (**) as he was sorry.

Hamatora the Novel some scenes 007
ch1 p52-54 Art asks why Honey&Three came to Japan (they usually work abroad, not in Japan.) and asks Honey a help for the case of missing beautiful girls.

Art turned himself to Honey.
“What a relief that you guys are in Japan now, Honey. What brought you in Japan? If it’s urgent, then I’d give up,”
said Art. Honey made a slightly embarrassed face (*), and she gazed into the distance.
“……Three, well, told me he wanted to buy a girly comic(shoujo manga) magazine released today at any costs.”
A girly comic magazine. That words bothered Koneko(**), but she kept silence so that she wouldn’t cut their conversation.
“Ah. Come to think of it, sensei loves girly comics.”
Sensei. Art calls Three so. Three is a master of military fighting skills commando sambo. He is also skillful at judo, so Art has learned judo from Three.
Art continued to talk.
“Even so, is it the stuff to even come and buy? These days, there must be an e-book version.”
“For the magazine, it’s hard to get the original Japanese one from abroad, and for the e-book version, it’s somehow not fun, he said. Isn’t it okay, because you can see me like this. So, what’s up?”
Honey made a serious face. Art’s face became serious, too.
“It’s fine even if it’s only for today, I’d like you to help me investigate. I’m sure, I think your high information processing ability can help me.”
"I came here to do so, anyway. This is instant, but can you give me the information?”
“Yes,” said Art. Taking something out from the pocket inside his suit, Art looked at Koneko.

↦ Fydoor tries to explain that, no he is not sick, it is not another ability.
↦ And realizes if this distracts him any further, his plans might not work.
↦ Of course, if s/o is a member of the DoA, he’ll just try get his feelings in control and let thing’s run it’s course.
↦ If not, he will research and do multiple background checks, and kidnap you
↦ But he knows Sigma wouldn’t like that and possibly might doubt him, so just asks to meet this “friend”. Sigma freezing, a bit hurt from the “friend” remark.

↦ Sigma making sure the DoA promises not to hurt them, he caves in.
↦ Gogol’s relentless teasing is poking at Sigma, non-stop.
↦ “So you’re the girl he’s always on about! I can see why he- mpHHF”

↦ You were confused of the clown being muffled, but you knew what he was going to say.
↦ As I said earlier, he’s still figuring himself and getting ahold of his feelings, so I think you’d have to put a move on him first.
↦ Him walking you home, after taking you to meet his other friends, still a bit pink from the teasing.
↦ So you were sure he loved you. You knew that, and have been waiting for him to make a move. But, after waiting so long, your patience grew thin.
