I still think the gouache painting I did 10 years prior came out better.

But these are two different mediums. Two different styles. And two different artists (one is me and the other is me 10 years ago).

i think its weird how ppl think they need to work to make u sympathise more with azula wrt her relationship w ursa? bc like. regardless of if ursa ACTUALLY said “my daughter is a monster” at any point. azula feeling that way is enough imo. like any child believing their mother thinks them a monster and breaking down SOBBING at the idea of their mother loving them is like sympathetic enough as is. like literally its as simple as if ur child breaks down in tears after hallucinating that u said u loved them bc its THAT painful for them and hard to believe? u have not been a good parent to them. like very simply if u do not meet ur childs base level psychological need to feel loved by you. you are doing something wrong. and i dont even dislike ursa or think shes like the root of the problem there its just quite simply she was not a good mom to azula.

Just a friendly reminder that Mai, Azula, and Ty Lee all deliberately chose to help Zuko work through his emotional turmoil in “The Beach,” and that in doing they arguably (inadvertently) helped set him on the path toward redemption.

Do we ever see Azula hug anyone in the show? I know Ty Lee hugs her when she finds her at the circus, but does Azula reciprocate? Or does she just sort of accept this is happening? And is she seen actively hugging anyone else at any point in time?

I don’t like how fans make Azula out to be this over-sexualized, femme fatale, master seductress like did y’all not see the way sis was STRUGGLING to talk to Chan? I wanna read posts and fanfics of her being the social awkward teenager that she is. Also, I wanna read some Dangerous Ladies content that’s not just “big bad Azula is torturing poor Mai and Ty Lee and they hate her”. Positive Dangerous ladies content (AU or not) where they’re the center of the story and their friendship is the focus in a positive light? Top tier. Positive dangerous ladies content where they’re all lowkey assholes, don’t be fooled by Ty Lee the girl’s a dick at times, but still manage to be lovable is immaculate. Positive dangerous ladies content where they’re all lovable and lowkey assholes AND Azula is socially awkward AND they show affection for each other in their own ways? ✨Exquisite✨ I love to see it.

Obviously "clouds are pretty" & "yeah. fluffy" is comedy gold & I quote "that's rough buddy" at least once a day but I was looking at the actual "Boiling Pock Part 1" transcript & the actual conversation between Sokka & Zuko is pretty interesting

Sokka: I think your uncle would be proud of you. Leaving your home to come and help us? That's hard. Zuko: It wasn't that hard. Sokka: Really? You didn't leave behind anyone you cared about?

Zuko: Well, I did have a girlfriend. Mai. Sokka: [Smiles and looks at Zuko with interest.] That gloomy girl who sighs a lot? Zuko: [Smiles.] Yeah. Everyone in the Fire Nation thinks I'm a traitor. I couldn't drag her into it.

It's really sad to me that Zuko doesn't even consider Azula. I'm not condemning him for this, to be clear. I'm noting the tragedy. Zuko's family history & the way he & Azula were raised meant that he viewed her as a rival first & his little sister second, if at all. It's just very sad that even after they reconnected & had some good moments together post-Ba Sing Se coup, Zuko was incapable of separating Azula from Ozai or viewing her as someone that he was leaving behind.

I think that it's at least implied that Azula was hurt by this betrayal, too. Zuko abandoning her & betraying the Fire Nation after she did everything in her power to restore his honor was such a blow to her, arguably even the first in the sequence of events that led to her downward spiral. But Zuko, I don't think, even processed this or thought of the fact that he was leaving Azula behind.

Again, can't be clear enough, I'm not condemning Zuko or calling him a bad person or a bad big brother or arguing that they couldn't fix things down the line. I think that they could. But the story we're presented with in the show between the fire siblings is so deeply tragic. And I think that despite recognizing his father's abuse, Zuko remains mostly blind to the way he was pitted against his sister. This also means that Zuko is sadly blind to the tragedy of his relationship with Azula, at least until the very end :(
