not trying to say that the ohtori academy is a metaphor for a country with a totalitarian/fascist regime, but it really reminds me of one.
a man (a misogynistic man!) being in control, targeting teenagers specifically: in fascist/totalitarian countries there is always a lot of propaganda aimed at kids/teens as the most vulnerable category of people.
the hypocrisy and double standards: gayness is only okay when it's used by the man in control as a way to assert dominance, but god forbid a person is not straight, wants agency and actually fights for their rights.
not giving people agency and brainwashing them into thinking they can't and shouldn't live differently. because if people under a totalitarian/fascist regime realise that they actually can, they're gonna put the man in control at a disadvantage. if a nation stops submitting to a fascist government, the government stops functioning. just the same way akio loses his power when anthy leaves.
