This morning I was greeted by the sun peaking through my window and death threats.
Why? I had the audacity to forget to close my curtains and apparently tumblr has outlawed crypto talk. Apparently I should get l kung food or something. I’m not sure yet what that means but I’ll let you know when I find out.
All the reasons for hating what crypto is associated with are valid. The most concerning is the environmental impact it has. I’m glad major networks like ethereum and cardano have already committed to reducing emission by 100% by replacing proof of work with proof of stake.
Here are some tips about NFT pertaining to art
1. If the project is offering a collection and it is not by an artist or for a cause you can research, don’t buy it.
2. If their entire selling point is making money, it’s a scam.
3. Don’t let mob mentality rush you into NFTs or out of them
I have been learning and working in the web 3 space for a little over 2 years and my first purchase was an NFT that I thought was from the loser club collection. I was wrong. It was supposed to be a birthday present for me and I had been stalking the creators for a while. I still should have double checked the account I was buying from.
I want more artist to use their own PFP and avatars but I also want more people to know what to look out for. The entire space is still so young and a lot of scammers have taken advantage of that. I’m here for real creators and communities taking on this technology and changing lives with it instead of the same people making money over and over again by scamming people and causing the world to mistrust NFTs. It sucks.
One day at a time. Today I have a call to dissect my deck and get ready to apply for certain programs. I really hope I find the right partners for my project (Alte Island) so I can be part of the change that desperately needs to happen for web 3 to truly arrive and host the digital life of creators.

This morning, I woke up to closed curtains and encouraging messages from people in the web 3 space on tumblr. It felt like a warm hug. Thank you ❤️
What came first? The scam or the value? I think it’s the value. This space would be nothing without value it creates for creators and the their communities.
I have been spending more time on twitter spaces again. I’m enjoying the conversations from a distance because it feels like you have to “earn” your spot. The NFT space has what every space has.. every part of society has. Gatekeepers. Early believers that have accumulated both $ and a following.
From the perspective of a newbie who has spent more time learning and building than actively participating, it is an odd place to be in. People are paranoid about other shilling their project in their spaces. There are also other spaces that are open and bubbly. Mostly led by people with the same energy. Even though those spaces are more welcoming, it feels like they have less reach. I’m going to select 2 rooms, 1 for each type to try and measure the current mood of the community and write a review at the end of 4 weeks.
I also had the call about my deck yesterday… it went OKAY. There are some slides that need work and others that are being thrown into the appendix. My need to explain every detail of my project is holding back it’s simplicity. Easy fix 😏
Music and web 3 are playing tug of war with my heart. Yesterday all I wanted to do was record but somehow I didn’t. It was still a productive day but still felt empty. I’m going to try and direct my energy into “my flow state” 😄

I recently saw a post about how tumblr is the best platform for crypto to grow. Specifically NFTs and the web 3 communities behind them.. I agree. Tumblr is known for being home to some of the most amazing communities. There was a time were outsiders dominated this space and made it their own and still do.
The crypto community in its nature is everything that tumblr communities were back in the day.. the biggest difference here is power. Crypto has the power to give communities real power. Bigger than being famous is having the resources to grow and protect value. I never really had my tumblr era because to do that you have to know your people. I didn’t know who I wanted my people to be back then.
Now I do. People that are not scared to dream and change the world. People that take risks and believe in the power of community. People that understand the importance of a decentralized future where we have a say on where we are heading.
I want to build with tumblr to change the future of a great company.
I think this is going to be my tech era through and through and I love that we are choosing tumblr for this adventure. The platform is too cool to die ❤️
My first Music NFT will also be posted here as I continue to grow as an Independent artist. Alte Island, the web 3 project I have been working on is also going to have a big presence on this platform. I’m so freaking excited 🙃
I hope I find all my people and they find me. I’m ready for the moon 🌖
