Queen Abby Tamblin
The Third Queen of Illea and widow of two kings- mother of a new dynasty.
From what we know of her-
Abby Tamblin was born a three and quickly became a favorite in the selection of Prince Justin Illea.
She was very fond of the crown prince but held a deep affection for his handsome cousin Porter Schreave.
From my understanding the two had an affair soon after she won the selection.
But as the New Queen’s affections started to become known and no heir had been produced from her marriage to Justin. she most likely didn’t want Justin to divorce her in favor of a different bride. </p><p> Abby poisoned him and was convinced by the barely living Gregory Illea to marry Porter and continue the royal line.<em>
My speculation was she was already pregnant with Clarkson before the elderly Gregory told her of this- and she was willing to pass Clarkson off as Justin’s son conceived before his untimely death. But she married Porter and gave birth to Clarkson soon after Gregory Illea’s death.
The thing is, her affections for Porter turned sour very quickly. I already stated how she most likely had plans to make IT known she was with child. Just without the knowledge that the baby wasn’t her dead husband’s. In doing that she would have been able to claim complete regency over Illea and have her heir. If Clarkson wasn’t a boy however then she would maybe marry again. But the aging first king forced her hand.
Porter wasn’t to wild about marrying a woman who had poisoned his cousin just because of their affair. Nor do I think he was all that thrilled over becoming king. especially since his queen hungered for more money, more powers, more of everything.
They might have been at one point in love but their affections soon lost their appeal and their only child was Clarkson so if that doesn’t explain their marital state what did?
This led to the arguments and fights both of shouting and occasionally physical violence that was the latter half of Abby’s life- paired with the alcoholism. She was a woman who wanted power and it showed by how she treated the selected.
