“you’re a mess of good intentions gone wrong. you strike a match on yourself to keep others warm, and now the whole goddamn world’s on fire. you try to put it out, and you try so hard. the dam breaks, and the waters of your sorrow pour free. you are sorry; so very, very sorry— and you will drown everyone to prove it.”

“You touch me and suddenly I feel a little less war torn. I’m not sure what peace is supposed to feel like but I think it may feel a lot like you”

Didn't Michaela (Ava's demon author) confirm that Odin x Ava were going to be a pair? I'm pretty sure i've heard that in the past at least, not from her directly though
it’s never been confirmed directly from michelle, but michelle uses very classic tropes that can be found in a lot of media she enjoys, the biggest one being from sailor moon. cute, hotheaded girl with stoic, rational guy whose past lives were married with a child lol
but aside from trope stuff, michelle loves to put a LOT of symbolism in her work, there’s this that i’ve talked about many times:
odin’s ring, a family heirloom belonging to his mother we now know, on ava’s left ring finger, the classic symbol of engagement/marriage. this is, honestly, a truly undeniable scene to me that sets up how odin and ava’s relationship will pan out. the detail on this drawing in particular shows that this is also a fairly important scene, typically michelle puts a lot of her artistic abilities into panels that mean a lot to the comic, things with heavy symbolism and/or emotion. there’s also this panel:
this panel, shortly before the panel above, is not only a very detailed painting of ava and odin’s first official meeting, but it was a painting that had build up starting with a carefully folded paper, that unravels into this drawing. my hypothesis is that this is a precious memory to ava, given that it’s in her book, and something she cherishes as a significant memory. odin is going to play a huge role for her both in her mission and personal life, which i believe will cause interesting interesting conflicts of her initial choice of a brand new life, and having a new life with odin. he is going to be one of the main people to have ava reconsider her pact, and make her question her perspective on life.
any way though, i’m rambling lmao, the point is, even though michelle never directly stated avaodin being canon, her symbolism is enough proof that these two are going to be a couple. also, they have cute blushy scenes, you can’t deny every canon ship has CUTE BLUSHY SCENES:
(if you look closely at the last image, you can see ava blushing while she holds a stuffed fox, odin’s favorite animal)
any way, tldr; michelle never directly stated avaodin being canon, but her symbolism and implications show more than enough evidence to support these two becoming a lasting couple in this series.
