Admire the art I wear

I want to have someone to come over just to look at my stretch marks with me because sometimes they make me feel insecure. So I want you to look at them and touch them as I tell you about the one time I crafted a person. How everyday they grew and I expanded to make room for them. I want you see where the expanding left me with skin that sags from no longer fitting. It’s not sexy and it’s not glamorous but it’s mine. I just want someone to kiss it and remind me that it’s love that caused it. I want someone to trace my scar that lives right under it. The one that is a reminder of my failed birth plan, a reminder sometimes there are just things in life you just can’t plan for. The one life came from. Sometimes I’m just too busy admiring my masterpiece and I forget to admire the artwork they left for me to wear. On those days I need someone to come and remind how.

I found a tardis for people still crying about the new doctor

I have discovered that people I know how learned to dismiss my daughter's disability because they've seen "high-functioning" people with Down Syndrome. They can't seem to get through their heads that in order to help my daughter with the delays that cause her more challenges, she has to do the $2,000+ worth of early invention a month. She need those $900 braces for her feet and she needs the neurologist, endocrinologist, genetic counselor, and to see her primary care doctor. It makes my blood boil they will dismiss the care she needs because they don't see how it will help her in the future.

If this healthcare bill passes I will be forced to flee the country or die a slow painful death. This isn’t a joke, this isn’t an exaggeration, this is real. And millions of people will also be in my situation without the ability to flee.

Do not forget disabled people in your activism. We are the first to die. And the last to receive help.
