how wonderful life is ! default verse, shortly after the performance of "a little oceanid." though granted a vision, there remained the question of what she was to do next. to live as a human, just as she wished they could... how does one do that, really?

half-moon, half-human ! takes place during her reign as the hydro archon, a period which spans centuries. her mind is always a cacophony of thoughts, constantly thinking forward and back, perfecting and reinforcing her act. she must be perfect, she must be justice in the eyes of her people. she cannot falter, she cannot hesitate. no matter the cost, she must be the leading lady of this stage.

it feels easier to just swim down ! oceanid au // i. before egeria gifted humanity to her faithful that wished for it, she, too, was one of the many oceanids of teyvat. / ii. though the hydro sovereign had pardoned fontaine for their "sin," she could not forgive herself for her own failures. rather than insist on her selfish wish that furina lives as a human as she wished they could, what remained of focalors enacts justice differently: she seals away egeria's gift, as well as neuvillette's forgiveness, allowing instead for furina to live as an oceanid. perhaps more centuries were necessary for her healing. and one day, when her tears have dried, she could reclaim the gifts that she had always deserved.

the unseen genius ! mirror au. focalors acts as furina's confidante; they move in tandem to deceive the heavenly principles and save fontaine from the prophecy. her "mirror self" still hides within the oratrice mechanique d'analyse cardinale, occasionally appearing in the palais mermonia using bodies of water and the looking glass in the archon's personal chambers. some secrets may still come between them, and it cannot be said that divinity and humanity always see eye to eye, but their heart beats as one. their love for fontaine shall be the only thing that drowns their nation.

Indeed, the mask is an obstacle. [Masks make for lonely companions and sometimes they get stuck on your face.] His mask, in particular, unnerves her. [She has done nothing wrong here, he was not here to judge her!] Though it does not stop her from trying to get a read of him, regardless of the intimidation factor. [To someone who could act on the grandest stage of Fontaine, what difference did it make if the mask could smile or not?]

She does not address the matter of her origins; it was clear that she was new to this Absalom... area, and expounding on her unfamiliarity could prove risky. His trustworthiness was still low, and even if he was her only option as a guide, she would not give out information she considered unnecessary. If he was proven to have ill intentions towards strangers like her, the less he knew, the better.

"Horos, then. Rejoice! You have the honor of becoming the escort of my exalted personage." Their names were a study of contrast: his, deserving of reverence in its completion; and hers, trivial despite all its embellishments.

Exit, stage left— what fate awaits her when her reason for existence was already fulfilled? Will he guide her beyond this physical plane?

There is a flinch that her body suppresses at the implications of being 'so far removed from her roots.' [Was she already found out? So soon?] None of the names he lists are familiar; not in Fontaine, not in what little she knew of Remuria, not in Teyvat. She does not know what to expect, but refused to balk at the unknown. [A god would know everything. A god would walk in foreign territory with grace and a sense of purpose.] There is no other way but forward.

"Of, of course I am aware this is the commercial district! It could not be made any more ob, obvious, so I saw no reason to bring it up!" Her words are less refined for a moment, a product of a mind in disarray. This person, he... his hand, it had made contact with her arm. [This wasn't an ambush.] Horos touched her. [She wasn't hurt.] With those nails. [She wasn't dead.] Furina understands why she didn't fight off his hold. [If she tried, it would have been a futile struggle. She was weak.] It was a miracle she didn't start screaming and begging him pathetically to spare her life. [He would find out. She could not let him find out. No one can ever find out.]

"Y, you offered to be my guide, did you not? Lead the way, then, Horos! I wish to purchase important items from the Grand Bazaar!"
