remember in School of Rock where the black girl was afraid to say she wanted to be a singer because she was fat and didn’t want to get laughed at but Dewey was all “who gives a shit, I’m fat too and so is aretha franklin but we’re still valuable and we rock” and then the girl felt better without having to be told that beauty comes in all sizes or some other bullshit. thats the kind of body positivity I’m looking for. tell these babies that they’re worth a damn without tying it to any other arbitrary ideals

TPUD1 Chapter 6: Aftershock
The scale tips over
Electrode waits for the Circles to leave before storming to their lab. With everything that’s happened recently, Leto being forced to participate in a government-sanctioned raid, losing over 500 kind, loyal workers, the Circle Heads pledging themselves to Electrode. It’s too much. They need to blow off some steam.
They slam the heavy metal door shut, storming to the CD player in the corner. They turn it on and press play, letting their mind be lost to the music. They go over the experimental blueprints that they had drawn up last week, deciding to try and make something. Gods, they need to do something that wasn’t absolutely vile. No matter how good it felt in the moment, it always felt worse afterwards.
It needed to be done, though. All of this needed to be done. Life dealt them a shit hand with one decent card, and fuck they really should be used to the cards she keeps giving.
The CD ends, and Electrode hits play again.
They continue working, letting the music slowly take them away.
It ends, they hit play.
They work.
The third time it ends, the third time Electrode presses play, they stand and listen to the slow beginning, shaking as it continues and grows in intensity. As the song hits its climax, they finally let out a scream, a burst of electricity coming from them and causing the player to burst.
“No fuck fuck fuck no.” They snap out of their emotional stupor and open the player with some amount of difficulty. The CD inside is charred, and they slowly take it out. The disc is completely ruined.
“No, fuck, no this can’t be happening. Not today.” They cry out, feeling the lost sensation of anxiety rise up in their chest. “I can’t- it’s all I have.”
A plastic CD case is held in their peripheral vision. Electrode turns and sees Virtue holding it. “Have mine.”
Electrode shakes their head. “No, no, that’s yours. I-I won’t-”
“They were yours more than they were mine.” Virtue emphasizes. “I wasn’t there when it went down, but I was there when you joined.” Electrode looks at Virtue, who’s holding back tears. They pull their best friend close and hug them, sobbing into their shoulder.
There’s a mumbled train of ‘thank you’s and ‘I’m sorry’s from Electrode.
There’s a knock on the open door, and Electrode pulls away at record speed, eyes no longer red and a grin on their face.
“Leto! Welcome to the lab! Let me show you around!” They walk to the ex-hero, who looks exhausted and haunted. Virtue’s eyes trail Electrode with a hidden sadness. They place the CD next to the player. They take a deep breath, holding it for a moment, and finally let go.

Elves
Elves, once considered the most graceful of the races, now exist almost entirely within the magical Fey Forests that surround the base of the large Mountains. Like many races with inherent magical qualities, the fall of natural Magic caused them to fall into disfavor. Unlike many of those races, they then fled to the rainforest and now are considered to be far from civilized. However, they still hold onto their magical qualities.

TPUD1 Chapter 5: By Virtue
A meeting with important people
The next two days passed quickly. Between Electrode and Virtue being the only ones who could set up everything (the surviving crew were sent home for their protection), Leto still being in a daze from the massacre, and trying to clean up the warehouse, there was no time to dwell on emotions. Virtue is glad they can so easily remove themselves, even if that ability worries Electrode. They know how much their employer tries to keep the brunt of their job away from them, but Virtue has seen things Electrode doesn’t know they’ve seen.
Things that help them do their job better.
Virtue places Leto in a surveillance room, explaining that the feeds are from the meeting room. The screens are off, but if Leto wants to see what’s going on she is in complete control. There’s just one rule: don’t leave until Virtue gets them. Not Electrode, Virtue. For her safety.
Closing the door, Virtue quickly finds Electrode and walks next to them. Their old mask is in their hands, a bulky thing compared to the one they have now. A reminder of where they started; how far they’ve come.
“I should feel worried.” They tell their right hand. “I guess this is my tipping point.”
Virtue hums, looking at Electrode. They look well-rested, but Virtue knows how skilled they are with makeup. “Maybe so. That doesn’t mean you have to lose yourself.”
Electrode nods, looking at their mask again. With a sigh, they toss it into a trash can. “Let’s go. Marquess can only wait for so long.”
They enter the meeting room, the 13 Circle Heads sitting around the circular table. Electrode takes their seat, Virtue joining them by sitting in the chair to the right.
Skeleton says the first word, as Electrode won’t speak unless spoken to in these meetings. “Why did you call us, Leader?” He asks.
Electrode makes eye contact with each of the Heads, eyes glowing slightly. “A small unit was sent to my warehouse.” They start, and there’s a small gasp from everyone at the table. Their reaction is expected, Electrode’s warehouses are as secure as they come. “The States Agency tapped Zephyr’s room. She had found her way to the warehouse a few months ago, and came without telling a soul for the purpose of information-gathering.”
Many of the Heads look like they want to protest, say that Electrode just has a soft-spot for the midtier. They don’t, however. It seems they value their lives.
“This unit, headed by an unknowing Zephyr, was made of police and lowtiers. The latter of which slaughtered 527 of my workers without mercy. Zephyr saved as many as she could, even taking a gift from one of the dying and listening to his last words.” Electrode looks down for a moment. “I tell you this because as of now, the plan is set in motion. Spread the word. The Leader of the Circles is coming out of the shadows, and there will be no mercy. Those who support a world that would kill hundreds in pursuit of one villain, a world that places young children in life-long binding contracts, shall be wiped away.
The room is still for a brief moment that stretches on. Then, one by one, the Heads rise from their seats and place a fist over their sternum. One by one, each of the Heads swear loyalty and fealty to Electrode. It’s a moment of great magnitude and heavy implications. While the Heads had respected Electrode’s place at the top, never had they pledged. Not once in the history of the Circles had they pledged themselves to anyone other than their Circle.
Electrode is emotionless, face blank. They, too, slowly rise, hands on the table to keep them steady. They have a vicious grin on their face.
“Today, we stop hiding our true power. Tomorrow? Tomorrow we make them pay.”

Draft 1, Part 2: Virtue; bathroom community
Virtue finds Malcolm.
Over the next few weeks, Virtue spent any possible free moment to see if they could find Malcolm. If the band was just practicing a few songs, they were scanning the whole garage for a hint of orange hair, or if Bug was leaving, they watched its car leave to see if Malcolm was possibly, hopefully, in the back seat.
Every time, without fail, in the moments they weren’t paying attention, someone would yell “bye Malcolm!” as the door clicked shut, and they were needed again. It was frustrating, it was aggravating, and for some reason it bothered Virtue to absolutely no end. Maybe because they prided themselves on being so observant, that not seeing someone who apparently was around a lot was a failing of that in some way. Or because Malcolm seemed to be doing it on purpose, if Bug’s constant snickering had anything to say about it.
Regardless, it’s annoying the hell out of Virtue. What started as them wanting to just meet their band member’s sibling has now turned into a personal goal that if they can’t accomplish it,  they have failed. At what? Virtue doesn’t know yet, but they know it’s a failure of something.
“Bye Malcolm! Make sure to bring food next time you decide to hang around right after school!” Bug yells to the door that just clicked shut, and the irritation rises through Virtue’s core. Again, they just missed him.
“Hey V, can you make sure he closed the door all the way?” Michael asks as he checks over his guitar. “You know how the latch is on that one.”
Sighing, Virtue nods and walks over to the garage door. They tug on it, and it falls open easily, making a slip of paper flutter slowly to the ground. After latching the door shut soundly (it’s still cold out, after all), they pick it up and unfold it.
Get good and just find me already, I’m getting bored :p - malcolm
The paper crumples in Virtue’s hand as they slowly turn around and see Bug’s wide and borderline malicious grin. So that’s how it is, then.
Game on.
-
It has been two weeks, and Virtue is no closer to finding Malcolm than they had been on day one. And it’s getting beyond frustrating, it’s beyond aggravating. It’s absolutely maddening, and they’re about at their fucking limit.
Doors shut and the band choruses a “bye Malcolm!” over and over and over again, and they haven’t seen the little shit once. How does he do it? What is he doing? It’s like he’s a fleeting shadow of a person.
A thought creeps into Virtue’s head, and settles itself deep. Their eyes scan the garage, focusing on the dark corners, and find nothing. He’s not here. He never is in their line of sight…
They spin around on their heels and see a small young teen leaning in the corner. His hair curls tightly to his scalp, dark black that cuts into faded orange, which frames dark eyes that look at them without an ounce of amusement. He’s clearly related to Bug with how they have the same face, his is just untouched from burn scars and holding onto the vestiges of baby fat.
Even so, Malcolm couldn’t look more different to his older sibling. Bug is covered in tattoos and art, and is looking into piercings. Not to mention the chaotically and carefully crafted look and aesthetic of some kind of grunge punk anti-hero. Malcolm, on the other hand, has a hoodie and soft jeans and slip on shoes and big headphones wrapped around his neck.
He steps away from the corner, and walks towards the door that leads outside. Virtue follows, and when the door clicks shut behind them Malcolm shoves a piece of paper to their chest.
Virtue looks at him as he retreats back against a wall and watches. They carefully look at the paper, and unfold it slowly.
You never look behind you when you need to, especially when you’re actively looking to achieve something. Good job finding me.
Virtue looks up to say something, and Malcolm is gone.

TPUD1 Chapter 4: Detach, Detain, and Leave
The aftermath of a massacre
Zephyr didn’t know that the Agency had bugged her room until she was sent to lead a raid into Electrode’s warehouse. She, some low tiers, and a small police force, were dropped in and, no matter how hard she tried to stop it, she couldn’t. She realized too late.
This is the last thing she wanted. The people who work for Electrode aren’t evil, just desperate. She, too, would have taken Electrode up on the offer of a job if it weren’t for the goddamn life-long contract.
Most of them aren’t even Powered. Virtue isn’t even Powered.
The low tiers and police blow the first few doors down with explosives. There’s sirens and workers running to what are obviously safety shelters. Many of them are gunned down before Zephyr can say ‘no’.
The man with the lanyard and pins stares at her, blood seeping through his shirt, and she sheds a tear for him. When none of her entourage are looking, she goes to him. He gives her his space pin and whispers his last words to her. She closes his eyes and rushes off to try and stop more bloodshed.
She gets to the Work Room before the heroes and police, seeing Virtue and Electrode. Electrode looks furiously at her, and she chokes back a sob. Zephyr falls to her knees and presents the pin, trembling.
“I’m so sorry.” She whispers. “I didn’t know until it was happening.”
Virtue and Electrode share a look, neither looking happy about it. Electrode steps in front of Zephyr. With sharp eyes, they analyze her, and nod.
Her nerves are on fire as her body moves without her command. She walks behind Electrode but in front of Virtue, who has adorned a simple white masquerade mask. She tries to move, but her body won’t listen. Why can’t she move?
The rest of the entourage arrive, covered in blood, and Zephyr wants to throw up. They ready themselves, the head captain saying something about this being the easy part. Zephyr wants to laugh. She’s the strongest of them and not once in three years has she ever been able to get close to the green-haired villain. Today was the closest she’s ever gotten.
They ready their guns and Electrode laughs. Their distorted voice sends shivers down Zephyr’s spine and obviously unnerves the offensive group. Virtue tugs on Zephyr’s elbow, dragging her away.
“You don’t know what you just set in motion.” The distorted voice cackles. She looks back and sees Electrode explode in a mass of lightning bolts.
The hero-police force are thrown backwards, some sustaining burns and some not rising.
“Find the detonator!” One of the heroes yells, and Zephyr knows deep in her bones that this wasn’t a trick or invention. This was Electrode’s hand being shown, and everyone was looking at what they had played instead.
The anti-gravity boots activate, making Electrode hover above them, and Virtue shoves her into a room and closes the door just as the screams start.
Zephyr stares at Virtue, who seems unnerved, with horror. Flashes of her interaction with The Drain coming back, not much, but enough. Her nerves suddenly settle from the burning sensation they had been feeling before. She steadies herself, gasping on sobs. Virtue is looking with emotionless eyes peering through the mask.
“He-” She heaves out. “I didn’t even know his name.” She finally lets the tears out, sobbing as she holds the bloody pin to her chest. “I couldn’t save anyone.”
Virtue grabs Zephyr as she collapses, gently letting her down onto the floor so she can lean against the wall.
“They knew the risks.” Virtue whispers. “We’ll send money and condolences to any family or friends they had.”
Zephyr barely keeps back a wail. So many families torn apart that she could have prevented it. If only she had- if only she had-
Electrode walks in, mask thrown into a corner, and not a speck of blood on their suit. They and Virtue exchange whispers, and then they set their gaze on Zephyr. She wants to curl up and die, she failed.
Electrode’s ungloved hand gently touches her own. “Their deaths aren’t because of you.” They say with certainty. “If they were, then you wouldn’t have this.” They touch the space pin. “You wouldn’t have cared.”
Zephyr wants to fight them, tell them how wrong they are, but she’s so tired. She wants to sleep forever.
Electrode squeezes Zephyr’s hand gently. “We’re going to get justice.” They whisper, voice deathly sharp. “You can join us in it.”
Virtue looks at Electrode with surprise. “But what about-”
“Fuck it all. I just lost 500 good, hard working people and I’m not gonna let the government glorify the 20 that caused this massacre.” Electrode cuts them off. “I’m not gonna hide anymore, either. Call the circle heads, we meet in two days.”
Virtue nods and leaves the room. Zephyr tries to curl into herself, but Electrode doesn’t relinquish their hold on her hand.
“Zephyr.” They say, much softer than they have been all day, more like the way they are when they fight. “You’re gonna see a side of me that’s unlike what you’ve seen. I hide the way I am around the circles from you, and I hide the way I am around you from the circles. If you want to join my cause, I’m gonna wait until after the meetings. If you wanna leave, leave. I already have a way to get you out of that shitty contract and I’m using it.” They say, and Zephyr’s breath solidifies in her throat. What do they mean?
Electrode looks at them. They have freckles, light and dusting the area right under their eyes. “Leto, please believe me when I say that I won’t let you get hurt or die. Not now.”
She wants to scream at the use of her civilian name. She hasn’t been Leto for so long now.
Electrode seems to recognize this, as they say one last thing.
“Don’t lose who you were.” They plead. “I did. I did the moment I made my moniker. Don’t make the mistakes I have.”
They stand up and go to leave, but Zephyr Leto calls out Electrode’s name.
“Who are you when you’re not Electrode?” She asks, and Electrode looks sad.
“A child who died a long time ago.”

TPUD1 Chapter 3: Electrode: Charging
Electrode has a meeting
Zephyr doesn’t remember what happened with The Drain, not really. She can remember The Drain touching them, falling into the empty office building. The Drain screaming, someone putting money into her hands. Electrode is there, smiling their usual shit-eating grin, saying something about gloves. Other than that, it’s just a hazy blur.
She does get gloves, blue to match her suit, once she’s released from the Agency’s hospital. Zephyr remembers one of the high ranking heroes being there, asking questions, telling her that she shouldn’t have fought The Drain. It’s not like she had a choice, everyone else was off fighting some other big baddie and she was the closest hero in town.
“You should stick to fighting the Powerless.” The hero had said, clearly talking about Electrode. Something in Zephyr wants to fight the hero, tell him Electrode isn’t Powerless, but she doesn’t know why. Electrode is Powerless. Right?
Electrode fixes their golden tie, contrasting their black button-up and slacks. They have their anti-gravity boots on, golden plating gleaming under fluorescent lights. They have their golden metallic wreath in their neon green hair, and golden earring in their left ear. They’re ready.
“Tecton, Second Trickster, and The Gifted Harlequin are here, Electrode.” Virtue reports, easily falling into step with the villain. “Peculiar and the Hollow Hijacker are in the elevator and will arrive shortly. I expect Dead Shade will want to make a dramatic entrance.”
This is why Electrode chose Virtue as their right hand. Even though Powerless, Virtue is exceptionally gifted in coding and surveillance. They are Electrode’s second eyes, and that is invaluable in this trade.
Electrode opens the doors, seeing the familiar masks of their fellow villains. They smile, being the only one without a mask. They never need it, not for these meetings.
“Peculiar, Hijacker, take a seat won’t you?” Electrode turns on their heel and gestures towards the long table. The pair of villains nod, taking their seats. The doors fly back open once they close, Death Shade storming in. Electrode hasn’t even sat down, knowing this was going to happen.
“Death Shade, welcome. I trust you know where to sit?” They hum without looking at the macabre villain.
Death Shade grumbles, but sits down. Electrode looks at the group, and gestures at Virtue to sit down with them, the Powerless handing Electrode some files. Overviews on the villains most likely.
Peculiar
Power: Mind Manipulation
Name: Lucas Byers
Hollow Hijacker
Power: Necromancy
Name: Alexandra Rudd
Tecton
Power: Ground Vibrations
Name: Stefiana Osborne
Second Trickster
Power: Duplication
Name: Gwion Vasquez
The Gifted Harlequin
Power: Bubble of Silence
Name: Jose Lee
Death Shade
Power: Darkness Creation
Name: Hallam Berger
Interesting. The second page seems to be talking about where each villain lives, their personal connections, what they do in their day to day lives. Electrode nods at Virtue, who smiles a little. They’re good at their job, and Electrode hopes they stay. If their plan is to be set in motion, Virtue is an important asset to have.
Death Shade bangs the table as Electrode finishes skimming the files. “Why did you call us here, E?!” He demands. “We have things to do, both in villain circles and in our personal ones!”
Electrode quietly closes the files. “You are obviously new to the villain scene.” They start, Death Shade stilling. “All of you are new villains who are quickly rising in the ranks of your respective circles. I’m sure you’ve noticed some things about your circles that … correlate with each other.”
The villains look at each other, communicating silently. Death Shade looks at Electrode.
“The rule surrounding the mediocre hero.” He says at last, and Electrode places their head on their hand.
“Mediocre is rather subjective. I prefer the term hardworking for dear Zephyr.” They sigh.
Death Shade seems to come to a conclusion. One that makes him sit down rather shakily.  “You’re-” He cuts himself off as Electrode grins. The rest of the villains pale as they come to the same conclusion as Death Shade.
Electrode slowly stands, making the lights in the room flicker and causing the villains to flinch. Virtue holds back laughter at the faces of the villains.
“You may call me Electrode.” They bow slightly, and everyone slowly bows their head in return. “And I’m sure you now understand why I brought you here.
Electrode leaves surprised, honestly. Only two of the original six had left alive. Peculiar had thought they were Powerless, ignoring the advice his elders had definitely given him. Tecton underestimated them, finding the terms unreasonable.
Newbies never change, they think. Always thinking they’re stronger than the older generation, or that they know more. There’s a reason Electrode is always at the top. It has nothing to do with power, oh no. All things concerned, their power should be neigh useless. But they adapted, and made everyone pay.
Virtue hands Electrode a cup of coffee, and they accept with a smile and a nod. Virtue really is too good for this world at times. If Virtue ever wanted to leave, Electrode would do everything in their power to ensure a good life for their right hand.
“Do you think the four will listen?” Virtue asks, and Electrode laughs, taking a sip of their coffee.
“They got a demonstration of what happens if they don’t, my dear.” Electrode grins. “If they value the lives of them and their loved ones, they won’t do a single thing.” They take another sip of coffee. “Now, let’s take a look at the lawsuit, hm?”

Affinities
READ! Some specific notations or number values have been replaced, as this is posted for feedback on readability, understanding, and question.
Affinities and Casting
When Magic is dead and gone, how does a world find a way to create without creating? They find themselves making Affinities to the five Origins that each mortal is, in one way or another, connected to: Fire, Earth, Water, Light, and Dark. Through growing and refining those Origin Affinities, the Origins revealed more powerful Affinities one can wield, if powerful enough.
As is the case with all things that can truly Create, there are two Affinities one cannot gain through normal means. These are Taint, and Chaos. Both are made when conflicting Affinities are combined. More often than not, this creates the all consuming Tainted Affinity, that takes over all Affinities, and can Create nothing. Rarely, this creates Chaos Affinity, which is all consuming and can Create everything. This is the Affinity and Magic that was found in all Sorcerers, and is considered the most powerful and dangerous Affinity for one to yield.
Casting
Every spell and effect will have 3 attributes above the described use/effect. These are Use, Drain, and Affinity. The importance of Use is described more within the Class descriptions, but it is essentially the primary function of the spell/effect, and one’s Class or Subclass will define how Use affects casting. Affinity is self explanatory. It is the Affinity one must have at least X Affinity experience to be able to cast the spell/effect.
Drain is more complicated. When using a spell/effect, one’s Affinity experience can also double as one’s Affinity extent. This is the amount of Drain one can take from a specific Affinity before it starts to affect their Casting Value. If a spell/effect has a Drain higher than the remaining Affinity extent, one can start to use the [HEALTH] of the Casting Value instead. If the Drain of a spell/effect is higher than the maximum Affinity extent, then it may not be used at all.
Gaining Affinity Experience
With any Spellcaster or Psychic they have the ability to learn any of the five Origin Affinities, but they can only have one primary Affinity. Their primary Affinity is the first Affinity they decide to study and develop.
In order to “study” an Affinity, one must have a strong enough metaphysical presence to be able to properly wield one. One’s Casting Value must be X in order to begin working on an Affinity. Once one’s Casting Value reaches X, the chosen Origin Affinity gains X Affinity experience.
When one’s Casting Value increases, one’s Affinity experience increases. For every point increased in the specified Casting Value, three points of Affinity experience are gained to distribute within the Affinities. The only rule is that one’s primary Origin Affinity must have more experience than any other Affinity, with the exception of if the primary Affinity is at its highest experience score. Any given Affinity may only have at most X experience. In order to start using any spells or effects, an Affinity must have an Affinity experience of X.
Refining Affinities
With each of the five Origin Affinities, one gains the ability to refine them into something more powerful, encompassing, and/or specific. Fire eventually becomes Energy, Earth eventually becomes Life. Light turns Solar, Dark turns Lunar, and Water turns Ice.
In order to Refine an Affinity, one’s Affinity experience with the Origin Affinity must reach X. For Fire and Earth, in order to reach their final Refinement, the Origin Affinity must have an Affinity experience value of X.
Below is a chart mapping out the refinement flow of all the Origin Affinities.
Tumblr media
Combined Affinities
When studying multiple Affinities, it is possible to combine the effects of some of them for a new, potentially greater effect. In order to combine Affinities in the first place, one must have a strong enough personal presence to be able to successfully bring them together, and therefore one’s Mind score should be equal to or greater than the combined experience scores of both Affinities. If it is not, one must make a successful Mind check (10 + the combined experience scores) to succeed.
All effects of combined Affinities are decided by the Game Master, with the exception of any Affinities that have conflict.
Conflicting Affinities
Some Affinities cannot be combined regardless of one’s Mind. If one attempts to combine either Light and Dark, or Fire and Water (as their Origin Affinities, and not any refined Affinity), they will unequivocally fail. Attempting to combine these will lead to one of three effects: the stronger Affinity’s effect continues with no consequence, one’s Affinities become Tainted, or one’s Affinities become Chaotic.
To see which of these comes into effect, one must roll 2d100s. If either of the d100s lands on a 01, one becomes Tainted (see in Taint section). If both d100s land on the same number, one becomes Chaotic (see in Chaos section). If neither happens, the Affinity with more experience is the stronger Affinity, and its effect will follow through.
There are no exceptions to this rule.
There are two Affinities, however, that while conflicting, do not have any consequences. These are the Affinities of Water and Energy. If these Affinities interact in any way, if the experience of the Water Affinity is greater than the experience of the Origin Fire Affinity, the Energy is dispelled and null.

TPUD1 Chapter 2: Shock and Surprise
Zephyr gets a surprise while fighting a villain
Zephyr had been fighting The Drain when it happened. During the debrief, she was told the rundown of The Drain’s power. Energy drains through skin-on-skin contact.
The Drain brushed against Zephyr’s ungloved hand, and she dropped like a fly.
People were screaming, she tried to get the wind to pick her up again, it didn’t work. Suddenly, her limbs were moving on their own, kicking off a building and crashing through some glass into an office space. She struggled to sit up and saw Electrode hovering by the shattered window.
The villain’s bright yellow eyes glinted with barely hidden fury that Zephyr had never seen before. The Drain leapt towards them, and Electrode easily sidestepped them.
“You tried to kill her.” They said, voice icy cold unlike their usual playful tone. Zephyr realized with dread that she probably never fought Electrode on equal footing.
Electrode is powerless. The Agency had told her when they had first popped up. So why has Electrode never been caught by high tier heroes? Why has Electrode only ever fought her, a mid tier?
The Drain laughed. “And you haven’t? What makes you think you’re even a villain? You aren’t Powered!” The Drain laughed harder. “You’re nothing!”
Electrode’s face was tilted so that shadows cover their eyes. Slowly, they removed their mask, and Zephyr saw The Drain’s face pale.
“Y-You,” The Drain stuttered before screaming in pure anguish. Electrode’s eyes were glowing and completely unforgiving. They slowly stepped closer to the screaming villain, the sound of their shoes deafening in the silent office.
They squat over the twitching villain, who stopped screaming and instead was weeping. “You broke the one rule you were given.” They said, “You know the punishment.”
The Drain started to tremble. “N-no, please, I’ll do anything.” The Drain pleaded, and instead Electrode ungloved a hand and touched The Drain’s chest. The fear in The Drain’s eyes flashed for a moment before glossing over.
Electrode stood up again, standing in front of Zephyr. Their eyes weren’t glowing anymore, and their signature playful smile was back. “Here, get a nice pair of gloves, yeah?” They placed a few twenties in Zephyr’s palm. She was too exhausted and shocked to recoil.
They put their gloves back on and waved Zephyr ‘goodbye’ before disappearing just before the rest of the Agency arrived.
