poor memory is a huge deal and i wish people wouldn't diminish it by saying "oh yeah i can't remember what i had for breakfast lol."
i can't remember the first 10 years of my life. i can't remember entire days, weeks, months at a time. i can't remember entire people, i can't remember names or faces. i can't remember when things are scheduled for, my calendar app on my phone is booked to the max with reminders and task checklists. i can't remember when i moved into what home when, i can't remember important milestone dates like when i got or lost certain jobs, or when i started a new hobby.
that's what i mean when i say i have poor memory. poor memory is so scary for the person who has it. it's not a quirky thing, everyone forgets small details. memory problems are scary because you can go through entire events or days with no memory, or plan for things in the future that you can't recall ever even looking into or scheduling. it's not a funny haha kind of thing, it's serious, and it affects a lot of people in very unavoidable ways.
not being able to plan for appointments or work schedules, not being able to remember people's names or faces, not being able to recall whether or not you were present for something or whether or not you met someone, not being able to keep track of what's happening on what dates and losing track of items because you can't remember where you put them are all very real problems, and anyone dealing with them deserves to be taken seriously, and not diminished when they choose to speak up about it.

”What if I mess up?”
“Annabeth, you won’t mess up.” Hazel said, trying to comfort her friend.
“But what if I end up judo flipping him like I did last time?”
Hazel chuckled and held up a bag of ice. “That’s what this is for.”
“Hold on, stay still. Your hair’s coming undone.” Piper fumbled with the clips and fastened them into her hair. “There.”
“Wait, one more thing.”
Hazel raised her eyebrows. “What?”
“Is the aisle spider-free?”
Piper laughed. “We wouldn’t make you walk that aisle if it wasn’t. Don’t worry. Everything is perfect.”
Jason rushed through the door. “Piper, the wedding has started! We’re up!”
“Oh, gods! I’m coming!”
Jason grabbed her arm and walked her down the aisle.
Shortly after, Hazel stood up. “Frank! It’s our turn!”
Frank peered out of the door. “Alright. Let’s go!”
After they walked the aisle, Annabeth stood at the archway, separating the building and the aisle. Grover took Annabeth by the arm and they began to walk down the aisle. Annabeth was beginning to get cold feet. But that faded away quickly once she stood face to face with Percy, who had a soft smile on his face.
“We are gathered here today to celebrate these two in holy matrimony. The two seem to have their own vows, so please give them you undivided attention.” The officiant signaled to Annabeth.
”Perseus Jackson. You honestly are stupid. You honestly don’t know how much people need you at times. You’re oblivious. You’re a bit clumsy.” Annabeth sighed. “But you’re also amazing. You understand me like no one else does. If I’m honest, which I am, I’d rather die next to you than missing you.” She saw his eyes sparkle with happiness. “I love you Seaweed Brain. And I’m honored to have you in my life.”
The officiant then signaled Percy.
“I thought you were really pretty when I first saw you. Like drop dead gorgeous. And you never even wore makeup! And you were- and still are- funny and smart. Well, obviously being a child of Athena and all- what I’m trying to say is I love you, Annabeth Chase. And I would love to wake up every morning with you next to me, knowing that you are mine, always.” Annabeth smiled at him, her eyes watering. “Oh, and I wrote this vow myself, so suck it Jason!”
Everyone then looked at Jason and chuckled a bit.
Juniper came, holding two beautiful rings. The stone in the ring was half gray, half blue, symbolizing Percy and Annabeth together.
And now by the power vested in me by the gods, it is my honor and delight to declare you married. Go forth and live each day to the fullest. You may seal this declaration with a kiss. I am so pleased to present the newlyweds, Percy and Annabeth. You may kiss the bride.
Percy then grabbed Annabeth and pulled her close, and leaned in for a kiss.
