When TGM in Japanese dub was more interesting than any entertainment on your flight. 😌
※ 🇯🇵 sub was likely directing translated from English script while 🇯🇵 dub was more naturally speaking.
Like this scene, dub was マッハ10か、やってやろう (M10? Let's do it!) but sub was very direct from the script.
Hangman called Mav old timer and Bradley called Mav old man, both translate to おじさん (old man/uncle) in Japanese. It's quite impolite for calling someone older than them.
Pretending it was conversation between the husbands

Ice: I miss you

※会いたい (ai-tai) can be "I miss you" in some context.
While sub was これは頼みじゃない (This is not a request) but dub was これは命令 (This is an order), it's quite more aggressive 🤭

Non-verbal Icemav Communication
Maverick and Iceman have been wingmen for a few years when Slider and Goose being to take notice of their little habit. And really it shouldn't be that cute, but they really do make an unlikely yet adorable couple. And they are always talking. Not even verbally talking, but just always touching or looking or leaning or gesturing with each other. They are always communicating.
Slider has seen, in the middle of Navy balls, with the brass around every corner, Ice lift one eyebrow into a pointed arch and send Mav a secretive little smirk, only to turn and see Mav practically burst into flames with a blush. Sldier does not want to know.
Goose has seen, in the Bradshaw kitchen during leave, Ice up bright and early but clearly not actually awake yet, going through the motions of making tea and coffee, without actually having anything in his hands. He forgets the milk, the sugar is on his other side and the cream is still in the fridge.
Then Mav comes stumbling down the hallway, somehow just as sleepy as Ice eyes half shut and clearly protesting the morning sun and the morning in general. He comes to a stop beside the counter, slotting himself into his specially reserved spot under Ices arm, leaning up against his while side. And then suddenly, it all makes sense. Ice resets and the mugs are on the counter, the milk is handed to Ice from Mavs hand and the sugar is stirred into the mugs. Creamer is fetched from the fridge and left on the table and Mav slides into his spot like he never left. Ice brushes a sweet kiss across Mavs forehead and takes a sip of his perfectly made coffee. The whole time, neither have said a word.
Its the cutest goddamn thing Goose has ever seen and he wakes up beside the love of its life cuddles with his baby Goose.
So, let's say Ice has just received his remission diagnosis, he's done the surgery, the chemo and the radiations and now he's finally, finally finished. Only he's on severe vocal rest for pretty much years now. So he and Maverick are always finding non-verbal way to communicate (and of course to mess with slider hehe). Now they're that annoyingly cute couple who have conversations with nothing but their eyes. It freaks the daggers out when they see it for thr first time. Especially since Mav and Ice don't acknowledge that anything strange is happening and switch every couple of words so they're both saying the same sentence between them.
"You guys have telepathy of something"
"Dont be ridiculous Bradley" with sly little smirks.
